I won't be able to provide a letter from my employer. I will send a letter from my union hall showing my good standing for our work list and my position ( journeyman). I meet all the requirements. I have 4 yrs of tax transcripts. plus pay stubs from current year. Will this cause any problems?? Also. I just received my nvc case number over the phone and my packet is in route to embassy. Is it safe to schedule our appointment now??? Thank you in advance:)

Not working is a huge problem. Being on an out of work list is fine but wont substitute for real income. You should check with the embassy about using a co sponsor if they will allow it.

Once you have the case number from NVC you can go ahead and schedule the interview online and medical for your fiancee. Follow Hank's guide for the rest of your journey : http://visaconnection-philippines.com/# . Good luck.

Then your tax transcripts will be enough proof of the income.

Letter from employer is NOT required, it's optional, so don't bother with a letter from the union hall either. ;)

What is required is your most RECENT tax return & W-2 (tax transcripts are fine also), embassy does not want 4 years of returns, they will not look at the additional returns nor will they even take them. Copies of pay stubs are fine (and optional)

You should be fine to schedule the interview now as long as you allow about 4 weeks between when the file shipped from NVC and the interview date.

Follow the flashing arrow for more details for Manila.
