Hello,

the F2A category status for my wife has been updated to ISSUED in the CEAC website after the AP is over. The AP stayed for 5 months and now finally the status says ISSUED by the grace of the Almighty. We are very happy now but also a little worried about how long it might take for the Embassy to contact either me or my wife for the Visa pick up?

We will be happy if my wife can join me before the holidays. And also what will be the method of contact?

Please share if anyone have similar experience.

Thank you.

Thank you for the good wishes and advice to both of you "shalone" & "KhanDhaka".

Yes, I told her to be awake and check her mobile every now and then.

Instead of torturing your wife, why don't you call the embassy every other day to get a status? LOL

Heartiest congratulations and this is not an easy thing on her after going through all these uncertainties. If I were you I would probably call the embassy, get an idea on how long tho takes (usually a week or so) and the. Infinite to call them once that time is up.

Let her relax after these past few brutal months....

LOL, Yeah, bro it certainly was brutal for her and for me as well. Thanks for your wishes though.

Actually I am following up with them from my end too. I got a good response from emailing them instead of calling directly. But i will call them again for sure. So I will be on it till it ends. :)

I'm in a similar situation with my husband's I130. CEAC updated to Issued on 12/5, but the Embassy hasn't contacted him to pick up his passport. Granted the following 2 days the Embassy was closed, but how long did it take your wife to have her visa in hand after the case status was updated online?

06.27.12: Mailed out I-130 IR1 for husband

07.02.12: NOA1
03.08.13: NOA2
05.10.13: Case complete

07.10.13: Interview - AP

12.05.13: AP completed

12.17.13: Visa in hand

02.02.14: POE - NYC

04.04.14: Greencard in hand

11.06.19: Mailed out N-400

12.03.19: Biometrics

01.21.21: Citizenship Interview

--

06.01.18: F2A filed for brothers ages 20, 19 and 16

03.26.20: Petition approved ages 21, 20 and 17

04.24.21: DQ - awaiting interview ages 22, 21 and 18

09.25.24: Interview for 3 brothers - Approved!

Hello ainsn,

My wife was contacted through phone after 5 days of the CEAC update, Her CEAC updated on 11/24 and she was contacted on 11/29 and was told to go to the Embassy on 12/02. She was there and received her passport with the visa by the grace of the Almighty. :)

I sent the Dhaka Embassy an email right after the CEAC was updated. Please try to either call them or email them once every week. I hope your husband will be contacted very soon and will get the visa as well. They sometimes can fail to contact the applicant, so I suggest you to communicate from your end.

Thank you.

Thank you so much for your advice! I just sent the Embassy an email, and will continue to follow up with them until we have the visa in hand. May Allah bless you and your family!
