Obama backs down from Iran and leaves it to Isreal. Big surprise. You had to know when Ho Chi Kerry went to Geneva it was to surrender. Isreal is not going to be over-run like Obama's other "friends" the Syrian rebels

Could this deal mean that an Israeli military strike was closer than was publicly acknowledged? It certainly makes it much more difficult to justify ... unless and until Iran shows its hand and breaks the deal. It will be interesting to see if the actual wording is ever released, or if it remains a nebulous entity, open to partisan interpretation.

One thing being overlooked, with the focus firmly on Israel, is the reaction of the Arab Gulf States. None of them are happy about this deal and there are more than a few locals who feel they have been sold down the river worse than Israel. But you're not likely to read that in the media, because it's very much off-message. <_<

Don't interrupt me when I'm talking to myself

The shrieking from The Lobby and its followers is hilarious. They are just livid that diplomacy and the rest of the world's interests have run circles around their perfect little plan for a disastrous war between the US and Iran

Netanyahu and his gang are dinosaurs; he wants to believe it's still 1973. He's in denial about today's political reality, but there has been a Sea Change.

The US's (and the world's) interests and policies in regard to Iran are sharply different from what Israel wants.

And US policies toward the Middle East in general are increasingly diverging from Israel's policies. With the increase in domestic oil production and imports from Canada, the US will soon no longer need Middle Eastern oil at all. But China and India are lining up to buy it. "Special relationships" with many partners in the region are changing. But the US knows that there are more than 76 million potential consumers in Iran and it's stupid not to do business with them.

So Netanyahu feels abandoned, and isolated. Well... good. I'm pretty sure he can expect more of that feeling... maybe it will help save Israel from itself.

The OP is so obsessed with finding fault with everything Obama he's able to twist a perfectly reasonable diplomatic move forward on the Middle East complex tensions as a failure. Sorry OP, you couldn't be more wrong.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Oh, I'm sure he did, but in his twisted version of reality that too can be factored into a failure for Obama.

It's nice to see that the Israeli govt. and their PACs aren't dictating U.S. foreign policy in the middle east, as is usually the case.

Another great foreign policy move by Obama. I think Obama has been a great foreign policy president. The best since Reagan.

The wheels are coming off... first they lost the push for US intervention in Syria, now this ?! AIPAC is losing its mojo. And of course Obama has not forgotten what The Lobby put him through in his first term....
