Putting off medical

As with many others, this process is moving far more quickly than we'd ever imagined it would. I'm certainly not complaining, but it's thrown us for a bit of a loop. We were thinking he would interview in April or May 2014 and I check CEAC today and the file is in transit to London. Would it be foolish for him to wait to do the medical until mid January? We were planning for him to come back to the US for a week in late January. I know London has been super slow (but only sometimes) in assigning interviews. If I remember correctly, it's been about a 6 week wait for a date and could be another 2 weeks, month, week, whatever until the actual interview.

Sure you can do that. Control your timeline by not rushing to get things in. There is a readiness for interview form that you can send when you are ready. It asks when you plan to travel and if you have a wedding date.

We are in the same position. My file is at the embassy already, NOA2 expires Feb 22nd and I'm over here in the states as we thought it would take longer and we could spend the waiting time together.

In the first week of January I will send the police check off and go to my GP to get a Tdap shot, a top-up of MMR & a flu shot. I will probably schedule my medical for the third week of January (providing the police check is back). Then afterwards send in my readiness form. I will have sent my DS-160 off by the end of the month just to show I'm pursuing it all. I'll bring a notarized letter of intent to marry from my fiance to the interview as I expect it will be past the Feb 22nd date.

It's weird because I'm so grateful that this process is going so quickly compared to wait times earlier in the year etc, but I'm also worried that my remaining time in England will be short and rushed as ideally we would like to get married on our anniversary in April. I do wonder how fast I could've got the visa had I not been over here during this time but who knows.
