The hypocrisy is not limited to one side of the aisle. It's present on both sides. Worse on the Republican side as they have obstructed in the Senate in a way never seen in the history of this country.

I remain skeptical about the chances that the Republicans are going to overcome years and years of alienating all but their base no matter how many mistakes that the Democrats make, and the current falling all over themselves with glee over ACA when it is largely their own echo chamber that they are responding to, indicates that there has been no learning in the party since failure to make Obama a one term President.

I believe that as long as Democrats continue to give free stuff to the majority of the poor Americans, the Democrats will continue to be reelected..

How sad that the Democrats have absolutely no concern with budgets, deficits, or fiscal accountability. They have the power now, but what are they doing with it..? they make people happy to have a free cell phone so they get the votes...

The difference is that the Republicans did not face the type of obstruction that they are perpetrating themselves. The other difference is that a deal was brokered back in 2005 to avoid that nuclear option - an option raised and the very term coined by, you guessed it, Republicans themselves - and that deal was honored by Democrats. There was a deal brokered earlier this year but Republicans have done nothing to honor it. They continued and actually increased their obstructionism.
