Visit to Bank Today

I went thru the drive thru at a national chain bank today.I made a deposit While I was waiting. I get this.

Sir my name is Marry.. Your CSR rep tom is handling your deposit, while you are waiting.....and went into some long spill about some low interest credit card. She went on and on.

Then she says I will have it sent out to you tomorrow I just need you to say i agree etc etc.

I said thank you I am not interested.

She then gave another pitch

I told her I was not interested

She finally ask if I can give her a reason why I am not interested

I reply because I would just like to put my money in your bank without having my privacy.invaded and having to be assaulted with a sales pitch

My wife said I was rude.

I think the bank is way out of line?

America is going down the crapper and corporate America is pulling the sled.

A reason why I do electronic or ATM deposits only. Try it out bra.

I do mostly but this check was to large for online deposit.

It their job to ask, they have to make a living, she probably gets commission and yes America is already in a toilet, a really dirty one that has never been cleaned before and corporate America and the government is pulling the sleigh.

I agree the trying to sell things is going way to far. Same thing when I call to complain my internet isn't working. Two or three sales pitches while they try to resolve the problem.

Not the agent's fault, don't blame them, don't get upset with them.....it's their job. Complain to the CEO or corporate head who is making these stupid rules.

I just texted my husband about this very thing. I had a bad, stupid day but I said "Man, I complain all the time but I just came home to a warm, safe house with cupboards full of food. Tell me to shut up more often." laughing.gif

I mean, really.

Waaaah, a bank teller annoyed me because the check I was depositing was TOO BIG to be able to avoid the conversation.

Please.

Yup, I never get mad at salespeople just because I know that their job must suck and they don't WANT to have to annoy people for a living, but sometimes that's what pays the bills. They probably get dozens of angry people talking at them all day. I refuse to be one of them unless they do/say something completely out of line.

Then cut it in half and snap pics of both halves, split it up.

I agree totally it's her job.My wife fussed at me for being short.

I just felt it was totally inappropriate to flag my credit and try to twist me into a credit card at the drive thru.

As i said in the OP it was not the teller, it was a sales rep that put a used car style pitch on me and kept on after I told her no.

You are right it is not a 10 level item

However i do thinks it is very unprofessional.I opned the checking account becuse an old college acquaintance asked me to..

I was also making plans to move a very large annuity to that bank after the first of the year. No more.that episode makes me question their greed and professionalism.

I know the word bank is enough...but.

What I find even more annoying is when you go into the bank to use a teller, and they don't have the conjones to simply go into a straightforward sales pitch and ask whether you want another stupid credit card. They couch it by saying something like: "Congratulations! Did you know that you have a special offer waiting for you!" or "I have great news! You qualify for an upgraded credit card!" or some nonsense like that. Happens at Chase branches all the time.

I plan to begin "interviewing" banks during the next few months. The outfit where I've been for nearly 23 years closed the supermarket branch where I'd been going, and the next nearest regular branch either treats me like an afterthought or like a criminal. I'd have pulled my account already, but I'd just ordered a new batch of checks before the supermarket-branch closure was announced. When I do pull the account, I'll make sure that everyone knows why. Si and sigh, man.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
