Apart from the sex aspect, I think agreeing on whether or not to have a TV in the bedroom also relates to the question of sleeping patterns and each person's respect for the other.

My ex-boyfriend and I had completely different sleeping patterns. I like to go to bed early and wake up early. He liked to go to bed at 2 am. He'd wake me every night from a deep sleep and then put on a light and read for an hour. Caused endless arguments partly due to the fact that I didn't get a decent night's sleep for years. Thank God we didn;t have a TV in the bedroom!

I made very sure that John respected my sleep needs. If he hadn't that would have been a red flag I couldn't ignore.

But you just know that there are plenty of couples who never discuss this stuff. It's crazy.

Our big joke is discussing who's responsibility it is to take out the garbage... and the penalty for not.

Let's just say there won't be a lot of garbage taken out in our household.
