Morgan Freeman Denzel, and wil Smith are token Black actors used to meet a quota? That might be on the top 10 list of the most absurd racist, I loathe my own race, statement that ever tumbled from your Mouth. Geez Marvin...Really?

I agree, 100%.

That is also true. The people that should really be pissed off is Hispanics. They are by far the most negatively misrepresented.

Sorry, by negatively I mean numbers wise.

Once again Machete and Machete Kills. Both rock

Raining here.

We just watched Grownups 1 and 2 and Meet the Millers.

Speaking of having a Token Black. I love Chris Rock, but its like they have to insert the black guy even when it does not fit.

And I will say this Salma Hayek..Good dear lord her hotness scale is of the meter.

Oh and british/australian accents in our commercials. Totally overrepresented. I hardly ever hear any american southern accents but british is all over the place. No wonder sutherners are so mad.

That is most of the reason we're pissed.

Marvin, blacks are 13% of the population of the US. It seems like you want them represented like they're 45%. Every time a black person gets recognized for their talent, its like you think that it wasn't the correct recognition or not enough. Ask anyone that watches American television what percentage of the population blacks made up. No one will think its that low because they're overly represented in the media. Geez.

What I am arguing is how they are recognized. Blacks should be awarded for decent positive roles AND transformation into different roles. Not just the former.

This does not make sense.

Is Kentucky the south?

Kinda. Depends on whatever is most beneficial at the time. I guess we're nothing since we didn't declare for either side during the "War of Northern Aggression"

For now, you're not since you're dipping into that sweet sweet Obamacare well.

But I'm sure when it's time to push the nation into default it'll be time to be suthern again, yeehaw.

Yes because Wil Smith, Denzel, and Morgan always portray the exact same evil villain. WTH?

They have all played so many diffrent types of positive characters.

Maybe you don't like them because they don't beat the racism drum all the time like Oprah.

How about they are all three well respected, highly capable,A-list celebrities that are very popular with movie goers. I have seen most of their movies and never stopped to think. Oh they are black.

However the fact they can be super popular and appreciated by millions of non-black fans, because they like their movies, well that just does not fit well into your No Black man can get ahead in America monologue" would it.

Sorry for the use of language, it pisses me off that there are tons of black actors deserve recognition, yet are passed over because they aren't the 3 above mention.

Then what are you on about with this "token black guy/action movie" stuff?

I'm usually on your side with most of your arguments, but this just screams racism coming from you. It undervalues what they've actually done and you've simply made them a "token" ... why would you do that?

You just listed over a handful of black actors and actresses who have had huge success in an industry where they are the minority. And when they get the recognition they deserve, you've undermined it with calling them tokens. Or saying they aren't recognized for the RIGHT things.

Maybe I'm coming off the wrong way. I apologize if I offended anyone. That big list of folks are great actors in their own right, but don't get the same recognition because they aren't those 3. If you can't get them, there are plenty others that can deliver the goods.

Is Kentucky the south?

They are in the SEC, but should be demoted to the ACC.
