Hi,

My father is a usa permanent resident. He applied for me to get PR in 2006. At tht time, I was under 21 years old dependent child. Now I am 25 years old. My case recently became current and I have got my invoice no and cover sheet to send papers to NVC. on the cover sheet, it says my case is F2B. Does this make any difference to the whole process? Do I have to do anything extra? Please reply ASAP.

You turned 21 before your priority date became current, and your F2A was converted to an F2B. It is already in the system as an F2B category application - There is nothing you need to do in addition to the normal application process.

Thank you for your prompt reply. So my case number remains the same?

Could you help me with this too?

My dad has permanent residency and he applied for PR FOR me in 2006. Anyway I recently got my invoice no and have made payments. My father travelled back and forth to USA and NEPAL during the past 7 years. He got a "white passport" last year and has been in Nepal for over a year. Apparently with a white passport you can enter USA after two years without getting your PR cancelled.

As my case is in process, I was wondering if my dad should go back to USA or is it ok if he stays in Nepal? During interview, if petitioner is in my country he has to go for the interview as well. What should we do?

I don't know.

I'm not sure what a "white passport" is, but it sounds like he has a re-entry permit. If your father does not live in the US, he is not entitled to a green card, and you are not entitled to be re-united with him in the US, as you're already united in Nepal.

Determination as to whether he has abandoned his LPR status or not is what will matter here. I don't know enough about this to give you any advice.

Hopefully, someone else will add their two cents.
