Haitao Hotel

208-210 Huang Pu Road West Tian He District, Guangzhou, China

This was the hotel I booked for my Fiancee when she spent a week there for her medical exam and interview. It's decently priced too and affordable, quite a nice place for the money. I book through AGODA.com, they always have some of the best rates. This location is about 8-10 minutes away from the US Consulate.

We stayed in a suite, 4 bedrooms, a five minute walk from the embassy. All of the people were there for immigration physicals or interviews. It cost 278 RMB per night. The owners also run a visa assistance agency, so they throw in a free pre-interview consultation. The consultation and being with others in the same boat seemed to have a calming effect in a fairly stressful time. The owner is Yang JiaHua. 13724842886. They don't speak much English.

That sounds like the hotel around the corner from the old consulate location. blink.png

Suggest that you update the VJ information page for the Guangzhou, China US Consulate, as warranted. That way other folks will have some ideas about lodging, etc. when their interview time arrives.

Yes - that's the same phone number the Yang's used at the old consulate. I wonder if they've moved also?

Do you happen to know the address or general location of the hotel from the consulate? I am trying to update the Embassy Info page with current info.

TIA.

Hi A&B, I am sorry but I don't know the exact address. But the lady I talked over the phone said it's just a 5 minute walk from the consulate. I will go there on the 15th for my interview on the 16th. I'll get you the exact address of that place. :)

Looking forward to hearing some great report about the outcome of your upcoming interview.

I am hope that you will enjoy more favorable weather then what I experienced when I was there in June 2012. From what folks have been saying on this thread, it is the same folks that were running the hotel around the corner from the old consulate location. We found them to be nice people, very helpful and informative. It sounds like they have just moved their thriving business to be near the new US consulate location.

Future Guangzhou interviewees will appreciate the updated lodging info.

Have a safe and productive trip.

Good luck!

Hi A&B,3

Thank you for your wishes. I made it to my interview and passed. Got the visa 2 days after. The weather was so favorable when I was there though it was raining.

Here's the contact details of the apartment where I stayed in Guangzhou. It was very near to the consulate. Maybe just 3 minutes walk. The owner's name is Mei and she is so nice.

If you stay here it is very convenient because it's free to leave your things in her office which is also just very near to the consulate.

I hope this helps. :)

:dancing: CONGRATULATIONS !!!! :dancing:

Thank you for the hotel info. I have updated the hotel section on the Guangzhou consulate information page per your great information. When things settle down and since you are one of most recent folks to do the GUZ, please take a chance to review the rest of the page and edit/adjust as necessary, or post the changes and I will be glad to incorporate the new info.
