Emailed the Embassy and received the following response today:

Dear Sir/Madam,

Our record indicates that the visa application for *************** in the subject immigrant visa case is still pending under administrative processing. Unfortunately, it is not possible for us to predict as to how long this processing may take. The wait could possibly be quite lengthy. However, please rest assured that as soon as this processing is finished, we will contact the applicant using the contact information he/she has provided on his/her application. We further assure you that the delay caused by administrative processing does not at all mean that this case has been forgotten. Thank you for your kind understanding.

Yours truly,

Immigrant Visa Unit

Consular Section, American Embassy

Islamabad, Pakistan (KM-10)

Note: To check online case status, please go to https://ceac.state.gov/CEAC/ . Ahmed flew from Pakistan to Abu Dabi to Chicago then on to our home in Michigan. There was a US immigration office in Abu Dabi where they took his visa packet. They were very kind and he didn't have any problems. When he got to Chicago he just showed his passport and visa and they let him through.

Hi Carolynhotstuff,

Many many congrtatulations that you are finally united with your husband :) have a happy life. Did they stamp your husband passport with permanant green card number? or is he still on conditional 2 years green card? as you people are married more than two years.

Carolyn, do post photographs of you and your husband in the States.

I have been reading your posts and God knows it was way more disturbing to read about your condition than anyone else. Really your prayers were answered. I request you to pray for me since I am also married for more than 4 years and have been in AP for such a long time.

I will try to post some pictures. I am praying for everyone because I know very well the pain that AP causes. In our case the embassy made a mistake and said we were not legally married. If not for that mistake we might have had our visa 2 years ago. Prayer and determination is what got us our visa. Stay strong as a loving couple and keep a written record of every time the embassy touches your case.

Really they worked on our case so many times in 2013 and 2014 that the visa came as a complete surprise. Once issued everything moves very quickly.
