I am the petitioner, i am a female. The beneficiary is male, pakistani. We are applying for a k1 visa. We were approved but put in AP with the slip. Have been waiting for 4 months.

msZeen that is the problem that once u put in AP... there is no guarantee whether u will get approved or not... still we all live on hopes and praying to GOD... mostly they take little time when beneficiary is male... i do not why but it is true... lets hope in ur case it will not be this type of waiting... i myslef waited 2 years and six months after interview in AP... to get the visa... but I m hoping IN SHA ALLAH this wont happen in my wifey case..

Inshallah I will keep you in my dua's and wish everyone here a end to their AP. I just wanted to let you know do not make the mistake I made. I feel so bad now, and wished I accepted the truth beforehand. May allah end everyone's AP, and issue their visa to keep them with their loved one.

I am kind of confused now. NVC called me asking me why my fiance didnt get his visa. Their supervisor and my congressmen both contacted the embassy the standard AP message. But my case status was not updated. They never update it from any inquiry. NVC said the visa was approved in DC in November and to keep contacting the embassy. I told them to contact the embassy because I did not want to be a pest. Has anyone ever gone through this before?

MsZeen,

I am confused too that NVC would call you but the final decision on the visa is up to the embassy. When you contact the embassy maybe once a month you are not being a pest.

I just wanted to say during our long wait my husband had 3 interviews at the embassy. The last interview was done by 3 men. They were yelling at him but he stayed calm. We must all remain calm during this visa process. The embassy kept us in AP many months before they even worked on our case. Then when they finally started working on it there were over 20 status updates. It took them over a year to make a decision on our case.

They sent the email to me the Petitioner that my husband would get his visa. I was the one who told my husband. We are still in shock but very happy.

Carolyn,

I honestly do not know how you stayed patient! My fiance already booked my next trip, it is so hard, and you made it look like cake. I am so happy for you, have you guys already booked tickets yet? As far as NVC is concerned, that is what threw me off. They said everything looks good and approved, they should issue the visa. I told them if they see it they should contact the embassy.

Cinderella,

Green slip is a 221g AP slip. I am not sure whether it is guranteed or not because I know people who did get denied after AP. Solely depends on the case details and outcome.

I think nvc meant to say that their work is complete and everything is good and approved from here but embassy is different department... Visa assuance depends on embassy that why transfer case to embassy or else if nvc had the power to issue the visa... AP would not even exist in our case....

Cindrella my wofe also got green slip...read it carefully it says on the first line that visa is denied... That means they will not give u visa on the spot but will put in AP and once AP is complete and decision is approved u will get the visa and if its denied embassy will give u the reason and instruction how u can apply for waiver.... I think they will not any case if the documenta and info is 100%..... There will have no reason of deniying the case if documents are acorrect... AP os not guarantee of getting visa..

Hello and Salam,

First of all, I would congratulate CAROLYN for that much patience and ultimately getting the visa. I am a silent observer of this forum. I am in AP for 2 years 6 months to be very precise. I am married for 4 years and that much time living alone, away from my beloved wife is taking its toll from both of us. Only God knows our pain, suffering and stress, but we wont complain as its fate. I would say to all of you to think positive and pray to God that he gives you patience and makes things easier for you. Remember, if you wont oppress anyone, nobody would oppress you. Just stay hopeful that one day you would be with your spouse and the dream which you have had to live with your life partner would come true. Tough times never last but tough people do.

Aisha I am sorry for the death of your co-sponsor but this is the time to start looking for another one. My husband and I first used an American Pakistani Cab Driver. Our visa was denied and he got married and couldn't sponsor us anymore. Then when the embassy asked for co-sponsor papers I asked my nephew who is a truck driver and he said yes. The embassy accepted his income. What I am trying to say is never give up. Keep praying, waiting and working on the things you need for your case.
