Can someone tell me whether this is a good sign or not. My wife had a immigrant visa interview on the 8th January and she was told to submit an additional document (her exit letter from Canada since she lived there for five years). But surprisingly no 221g slip was given which is very odd. Do you think this is a sign of very late waiting period or not. Normally people get green or a blue slip.

i think blue slip means u have to send required documents which ambassy officer ask u , blue slip and green slip both cases people have to wait for issue visa .. in both cases people have in AP . after complte AP ambaasy will issue visa. so don't worry just wait bcs u can't do anything after submit additional documents u just have to wait..btw ur wife had an interview in this year 2014

i think female visa approved fast it depends is she working lady had any trip to foreign .

somebody do u have experience they send field investigater? like in ur nebour hood or on job

There are various things that I'd like to mention here.

First, don't forget the mass surveillance system of United States NSA. As far as I know, they can see your each and every move. if they want to, even without sending a physical field investigator.

And even if something like that happens, I don't think they will send field investigators during AP but they might before AP, even before sending case to local embassy/consulate.

AP to me is just background checks including checks from bio-metric prints that they take before interview and any new things that you tell them during interview and is worth checking.

These are just assumptions and speculations, of course, no one but NSA knows details of it.

Najam, that's neither good sign nor bad sign. CO is human too, sometimes they forget giving blue or green slips (specially if he/she is new). Something of similar nature happened to me. After my interview, CO told me that good news is that he is approving but it might take little time for AP and we wrapped up the interview (no slips given). After few minutes he announced my ticket number again and then gave me green slip saying "oh and take this, sorry". He seemed new to the job.

Quite often filed investigations are done during AP. we have seen many instances of it

Filed investigations? I assume you meant field investigations..

And maybe, I am not sure. Even if they are doing it, they won't just come to beneficiary and say 'we are investigators' lol so eh. LoL

Yes they do field investigation or do it from local union council, my cousin works in union council in karachi and he told me that, investagators come to UC for background checks of applicant. But i am not sure that they always do it.

bro in union council they for some paper verify.somebody is right very rare cases they come speicaly those r not proving true relationship

In this case they would had came in my neighborhood prior my case, becuase in my neighborhood (gali) there are 8 houses in which 4 houses are of US citizens and 1 was sold by them. And also in my pechlli(back) gali there are some people who live in US.

Honestly, it doesn't really matter what they do but whatever they do, they should be more quick about it.. >.<

I am female and waitng for my second interview and i never went to any foreign trip and i am in ap since 5 months ,so i dont think that this make any difference.

There are always exceptions. Also 5 months aren't as much as many men stuck in AP for years.

I do agree about female getting visa sooner/easily than men.
