I got this email today

Dear Sir/Madam,

Administrative processing is mandatory for all sorts of visas to the United States. There are no waivers available. Only once this processing has concluded do we review a case for possible issuance of a visa. The time this processing may take varies from applicant to applicant. The wait time can be very lengthy. Thank you for your kind understanding.

What is this meant by this is this mean . I think that this mean that they are not contacting me any more and not ready to give visa. will any one tell me what is that mean? Your help will highly appreciated

after a month and five days, no change yet, though for J-1 visa sponsored by the DoS under fulbright, it usually is issued before the start of semester.. my reporting date is Jan 9 at my uni.. fingers still crossed.

if it doesnt work out, my admission will be deferred to fall.. what i am gonna do meanwhile, is still undecided.. any suggestions, folks!?

Why dont you email the embassy and tell them the whole situation...also call DOS and request them to inform u in detail on what to do...u hardly have a wk ahead...but i m sure u have already tried all this...well my best wishes r with u...but if u dont get ur visa within time, just dont get disheartened...God has better reasons for us....Best of luck

This means that this AP is a necessary process and u just have to wait till it ends...they cant tell u how long but u just hav to wait....just keep praying...my best wishes r with u dear

I just saw one of our case get updated without any communication from us after 4 months. But its a bit confusing. The updated date is Jan 3rd. Its 4 AM Pakistan time. And its not even Jan 3rd in the US right now. They work on the cases this late!? or maybe something else. confusing.

My husband is five years older than me other then that I don't think there are any red flags, our paper work upto interview date went very smoothly yet unfortunately at the interview he was told about new co sponsor. My first sponsor was my uncle he met the income requirements but I guess he had reached his limit of people he had already helped in the previous years... We were able to find new co sponsor within 15 days from interview. On Oct. 31 2012 I was told it was approved however since then we have been in AP. They requested new docs this year first Ds230 with medical and then after 40 days they called him and requested Ds260 we were suddenly so hopeful however since then our case has been slowing down again. That is my story.

Thanks for sharing ur story. Exactly same thing happened with me too regarding our first co sponsor...then it took me 3 months to find another one...and let me make one thing clear...u dont hav ANY red flags in ur case i guess coz if ur husband is older than u, then its a positive thing...red flag could be a second marraige, or a non conventional older wife, or kids from first marraige....u seem fine mAllah...so keep praying for urself and for all of us in AP

Dont worry u can go without passport coz my husband just did his second medical without any passport...u jusy have to take printed email or letter from embassy in which they request you to get ur medical done

Depending on the DOS agent, you can ask them what activity has been done om your case, how far they have reached. I know Anna & Sarah will not say anything! They have all the information in front of them.

Do u mean these r the names of DoS agents?? Coz i know whenever i call them, at times they r very nice n friendly n they answer ur questions nicely...but if there is a female they r never friendly...at least this happens with me ....but some of the male agents r really helpful

if u have passport copy u can take otherwise u just go with embassy letter or email print.medical center also open on even sunday in lahore i do nt know w r u from.
