Hello Fellow Members,

I have been silently observing this forum for over 12 months. I received my visa today and decided that i should share my story with members.

I got married in nov 2010 and after a long wait got interviewed in March 2014. the interview was very brief, i think it was less than 5 mins, and the officer said everything is fine but further processing is required and i should expect an update in 3-4 months. I had to travel abroad so got my passport back in May 2014. my case kept on updating periodically, sometimes there was no change for even months. on Oct 21, online status was updated but this time i also got a telephone call to send fresh medical and passport. I sent the required documents in 3 days and after that there two updates and then status changed to issued and today got my visa packet.

Thanks Allah.

Now as i look back, the wait was divided in two phases, pre interview wait and post interview wait. pre interview wait is not that hard as AP. it gets over your head sometimes. AP was, yes, difficult. mainly due to uncertainty associated with it. but Alhumdillilah its over now. only thing that worked was prayers. i am sure about that. rest, as they say, visa to lag hi jaye ga, ye nahi pta ke kab, so stay strong friends. I will pray for you all. wish me luck as well.

many thanks

Did you get married on that 17 day visit? Believe it or not they are always looking for something to complain about and say it's against Pakistani culture or doesn't look right.

When we fall in love with our Pakistani husbands/wives we are not thinking about pleasing the people that work for the embassy. Most of us don't have any idea of what they put Pakistani's through to get a visa. Your CO has decided that you have what we call on VJ red flags. You got married on the first visit and only stayed a short time with your husband. Did you have a good reason for only staying 17 days and did your husband tell the CO the reason? It's not our business on VJ to get into your personal business, we just offer non legal advice. Did you have a big wedding and take lots of pictures and show the CO? If you didn't have a big wedding, why not?

These are some of the questions the CO is asking and they might call your husband for a 2nd interview. He should be prepared for that and have answers for these questions and any others they might ask.
