DOS should have a record of your case on their computer system. Your paperwork is at the embassy. All DOS will tell you is if you are in AP or if the visa is issued. They can also tell you if your documents have been received by the embassy,

Visa issued!!!!dancin5hr.gifdancin5hr.gif after a nerve wrecking 188 days! this AP was hell...issued on 24th Dec, passport in hand today!! my status updated about 6 times this month and finally showed issued!! i was interviewed on 18th June 2013 and had only 3 updates in June....in December i emailed the embassy as my case had been in AP for six months..then regular updates and the BIG DAY came today!! dancin5hr.gif my visa category is IR-1 and i am a male beneficiary.

I would like to thank every one on this forum, whose comments/experiences helped me hold my nerve! I sincerely hope and pray that all of you get ur visa soon and be with ur loved ones! Carolynhotstuff, EAbbas, Maabish, Soccerplayer, Austin Guy, Kamraan, Kaash and all of u stuck in AP are very strong and should not give up...one day u will share the joy with ur loved ones and forget this tough period ur goin through...keep me in ur prayers! smile.png

Congratulation Nitro! I also have a good news to share with you all. I'm delighted to announce that after almost 2 and a half years (interview date: July 12th, 2011) in AP, my father's case status has been changed to Issued today. He went to Islamabad embassy yesterday for fingerprinting and oath. He was told that his visa has been granted but his case status did not get changed online but today it got changed to Issued. This is a new year present to us. smile.png

I would also thank you for all your help and pray you all get out of AP soon.

Happy New Year!!!

Congratulations to all who have finally gotten their visas. The date on our case updated yesterday but did not change today. I was very disappointed. I pray that one day my husband will also get his visa.

Kamraan,

My last update was December 30, 2013.

The embassy has worked on our case a lot. We have had 19 updates over an 18 month period but our case still remains in AP.

after a month and five days, no change yet, though for J-1 visa sponsored by the DoS under fulbright, it usually is issued before the start of semester.. my reporting date is Jan 9 at my uni.. fingers still crossed.

if it doesnt work out, my admission will be deferred to fall.. what i am gonna do meanwhile, is still undecided.. any suggestions, folks!?

Shahzad sometimes the embassy moves very quickly when they are ready to issue the visa it could be that you get your visa in 2-3 weeks. It could take longer nobody knows.
