i emailed the embassy on 16th dec, i want to inform that my ticket is going to expire in end of jan. My interview was on 26th July and I was told at my interview that i will get my visa in a week or within 10 days, and my husband purchased my ticket for the start of sept. but now its been 5 months since my interview and i m still in AP. I told them PIA's ticket is valid for 6 months after that it will expire and my money will b wasted. Today they reply me the same that my case is still under AP and they cant predict the time.

I dont know what to do now.

Now medical is valid for 6 months, that means a new medical will b needed, and if they will not issue my visa till mid of jan my ticket will also be wasted, A big loss of Money. :(

You should never purchase a ticket without a visa in hand. That was a mistake at your end.

U.S. Embassy never asks for ticket for visa issuance.

But there was a 2 month gap between my interview and my ticket, n they told me for 7 days, it means they lied, we maintained a fair Gap. Any way

Do NOT rely on verbal info or info you get on phone. Unless it's documented, you can never take it up..

I received an 'email' from the khi consulate congratulating me for visa issuance, when infact it was only my AP that was completed and the embassy was waiting for my ds2019!

I pray that you get your visa by jan, and your ticket doesnt need to be returned. It's only prayers that work and the process is entirely unpredictable.

You could get it tomorrow without a status date change or anything. Stay optimistic, as someone said, you're gonna laugh at the wait and all the cribbing once inshaAllah the process is over! ;)

Can anybody comment on whether we're able to request embassy to keep our case 'open' for a say, a month till we can arrange for documents required for further processing?

I'm asking coz i dont want to repeat the agony of embassy closing my case after AP instead of waiting a little more for ds2019 or i20 documents..

My husband sent his new passport to the embassy without making a copy of it. To get a new police certificate he needs his passport number. I have emailed the embassy yesterday and asked for the number. So far no response from the embassy.

Hi Austin Guy, Is your father in AP? If he is I think its a really good signal of a approval coming your way soon because they don't usually ask for fingerprints, and another member who was asked for fingerprints got his visa right away. Best of Luck!

Hi Sam, Yes, My father is in AP since July 2011. Thanks man, I also hope that he gets the visa soon.

Not sure about NIV cases but for IV cases in islamabad you have option to hold your case. Click on the following link

http://islamabad.usembassy.gov/contact-information/visa-inquiries.html

and select the Topic "PLEASE HOLD PROCESSING ON MY CASE"

I would contact them and make a request
