guys, are the embassy ppl / dos minful of our travel dates... like university starting dates?

quite a few ppl in my batch actually received visa at the very last moment, which makes me believe they somehow knw when we need to travel..

or was that a coincidence??!

I know some students who were in AP short time(15-20 days max) and they were given visas before their school started. They all applied in Karachi embassy though.

The embassy seems to be making all kinds of mistakes with our case. At first they sent us an email asking for a new medical back in October. When I questioned them about it they said it was a mistake our medical was good until March. Because of the debate on here about when they expire I emailed the embassy again. They said medicals are only good for 6 months now.

So my husband will call and make an appointment to get a new medical done. Maybe this is why they have not been working on our case

Carolyn, I hope that is the case. I wish and pray that he gets the soon. When my father went for his new medical. Physician told him that US embassy has changed the policy and now medical is only good for 6 months. Ever since he submitted his new medical, his case has been updated twice and more recently today. I hope he gets his visa soon.

Thank you Austin Guy for your kind words. I pray the new medical is all they need to finish our case and issue the visa. I have sent a package to the embassy with letters and emails from them showing the mistakes they have made to our case. In one email that called my husband Mr. Sahah my husbands last name is Raza.

Because it is the Christmas season I have spent all my money on gifts for my family. I will have to go to the bank and take out a loan to pay for the medical and travel to Lahore. I am very upset that the embassy gave me the wrong information in October. So much time has been wasted. My husband could have been here by now.

You did the right thing by sending that package to the embassy and giving them a piece of ur mind.. i hope somebody at the helm takes it up with those responsible for the undue delay. im sure ur husband wudve got his visa issued if it werent for this delay. still, im glad the forum members helped raise the flag abt the new medical policy.

My case was messed up too as i said by closing it at the embassy level and subjecting me to AP once again. Although a mere wait of 15-20 days and id have sent them the documents they needed. id thought the US embassy worked in a more professional manner!

Thats relieving to hear, Austin Guy! I thought the minimum possible time was 60 days! I was interviewed at khi consulate previously which took like 3.5 months..

My husband is very disappointed at the embassy. He thought they were more professional and knew their jobs. Our case shows that they do not always know what they are doing. It is as if our case is being worked by someone new or more than one person.

All consulates in Karachi process visa cases much faster than Islamabad and with less hassle. That is a fact.

I think because Karachi is more business like and straight forward....

Maybe! But 'typical wait times' on the website do not take AP into consideration, which is entirely unpredictable!
