what uis this i just checked my case status and this shows whether its done mistakenly or its serious
MMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION
Expiring Soon
Immigrant Visa Case Number:xxxxxxxxx 01 ISL Case Creation Date: 03-Mar-2010 Status Updated Date: 02-May-2014
Section 203(g) of the Immigration and Nationality Act requires that your registration be canceled and any petition approved on your behalf canceled, if you do not apply for your immigrant visa within one year of being advised to do so.

You were advised of this requirement over 1 year ago, but we have not received a response from you since then. As a result, your application for a visa has been canceled and any petition approved on your behalf has also been canceled.

Your application may be reinstated and any petition revalidated if, within one year, you can establish that your failure to pursue your immigrant visa application was due to circumstances beyond your control. Please provide a written statement to the Embassy or Consulate outlining the circumstances beyond your control and noting that you still wish to pursue this

Oh my God have mercy on us, case creation date 03- March-2010 and your case is still in AP. This is so unfair but why your case is so long in AP? Have Embassy asked you to submit some documents and you have not? Please share with us your thinking the cause of long AP.

I think all you have to do is to send an email to Embassy requesting to put your case back in AP. I hope this AP nightmare is over for all of us soon. Ameen.

I heard few time before on VJ here that US Embassy in Paki has more than 2000 pending cases to be finalized...anyone would share about this if this can be the reason for longer APs for all of us...bcoz 99 % IV cases have no solid reason to be stuck in AP bcoz every one is genuinely having bonafide relation to apply for US IV.

Your info share would be appreciated.

I don't know if this is true or not but I have noticed that most of the cases in Islamabad go into AP. I hate it! There should be a time limit and guidelines for them to follow at the embassy. The interviewer has complete control of our lives depending on how they feel that day, if they are in a good mood or not. It is all up to their perception. :ranting::protest:

Hello All:

Sorry I have not been around much (I have been busy at work). So the update on my case is that it was returned to the San Francisco field office and then forwarded to my local field office. Finally my congressional liasion was given the direction to have me make an appointment to bring in all the paperwork that was returned to my husband at his interview. I had my appointment today and surprisingly they were very helpful and pleasant. They told me that it was strange that they returned all of the paperwork to my husband and they took everything from me. I asked them if my case was sent back for revocation and they said it was under "extended review" and there are no notes about revocation. The woman at the window then started asking me questions about how we met, how many times have I visited, etc. I answered them and then she asked me to write it all up. I told her that all of that information is in the paperwork I gave back to her. I also handed her 9 months of fresh chat logs and copies of my last 3 plane tickets with the passport stamps. She said that it would take 30-60 days for the officer to review and he would contact me if they need any more information.

Part of me is relieved that it was not sent back for revocation, but I still feel like I am going through that process and they are just calling it "extended review". I just hope that this is the final step and we will see something positive in the next two months.

That sounds good, hope you will get a resolve soon. I don't understand why they said it was strange that they returned all paperwork to

your husband when they know they did. Same with the revocation update you received (return) and they say there are no notes about it.

Seems the right hand doesn't know what the left is doing there.

Best wishes.

My update was also on April 29, 2014 that day my wife received call from Embassy to submit DS260. Which we did on May 1, 2014 and now update is May 1, 2014. I am hoping in next couple of a call from Embassy for 2nd interview. Is it true there is gap of couple of weeks between call and interview date? I told my wife not go for medical yet, until Embassy called and give you date for interview.
