I am sorry to tell you, but the embassy and DOS are not telling you the truth. As I have stated before, I have paperwork from USCIS that was given to my husband at his interview. It is titled the Suspect Marriage Referral Sheet and the number one item is Large age difference (wife is older by several years). Please look at the attachment on this post.

I hope people will check your attached thumbnail to lay the issue of age difference to rest for once and for all. Thanks for posting.

AOA everyone.....just went through this forum and found it really helpful in giving me the hope and courage that its not only me and people has been waiting for a lot longer than me and finally after a long wait like 4 years gor thwir visas and a chance to spend their life with their loved ones.

Ok now coming to my case, I was interviewed on 29th july 2013 (was married on 25th may 3012) and the CO told me that i need to get a new co-sponsor and also my case is under AP..

We submitted all documents by mid august, my case status was constantly changing in those day,

At that time my wife was in US and i was working for a bank in pakistan but after my interview i got a job offer from a bank in dubai.....and moved to dubai....

I updated this information with the embassy, my cases was getting updated but the embassy never replied to me.

In november i applied for my wife's and daughter 's visa for dubai and now we all are living in dubai.

I have recently asked the embassy about my case several times but they send me the same reply everytime.

I would like to know if any one can tell me that

Is moving to Dubai is not a good idea? Will it effect my visa process?

Can i get my cases transferred during AP

i have also lived in UK for 5 year apprx....does that also effeCTS my AP?

My wife and daughter are staying with me...is this a plus point?

And i have got a three years work visa in Dubai and my pasport has that visa sticker, can this visa be a issue for US EMBASSY?

Please give your comments regarding my case....

It should not affect your process much.

Travel can lengthen AP a bit but it is usually not a big deal.

Yes, it is good bona fide relationship proof that you all live together.

A work visa to Dubai should be no issue. They may require a police certificate from there, did you submit one ?

I will try to explain to you what a red flag means.

First of all the term 'red flag' is a term used by the VJ community, not by the USCIS, NVC or embassy.

There is no status saying anything about a red flag.

The agencies have a 'fraud referral sheet' that they check while going over your case.

That sheet of paper is a list of things that MAY indicate that fraud is involved and a guideline for them to determine approval /denial.

It is not proof that it is fraud ...it is an "indicator" open to discretion and interpretation by each CO.

It does not mean if you match it you are refused or denied automatically.

The more things that you match on the list the higher the 'possibility' to be refused.

In Pakistan and Mena countries there is mostly AP for mandatory security and background checks given the political climate.

In African countries we often have AP for field investigations to see if the beneficiary's motives are for immigration

benefits only to make a better life for him or herself and not based on true love and a bona fide relatonship, thereby committing

fraud in "using" a USC.

What do we on this VJ forum determine as red flags from collective experience that may or may not match the actual referral sheet ?

Age difference

Difference in religion

Not enough visits

A short courtship

A fast marriage after a short courtship

Unusual travel

Unusual bank transfers

These items do not mean you will be automatically refused, but you will be scrutinized a little more and asked questions and yes, sometimes

denied according to your CO's discretionary authority and interpretation.

There are too many to list and each visa category has different fraud 'indicators'.

As I said with Pakistan it is usually security and background checks and there is nothing you can do.

I hope this will explain the red flags you read about and shed some light on the differences of mandatory security checks during

AP and the fraud indicators.

I just checked our case and we got another update today, We have been getting this like every other day, I don't know what to think about all this now, I am trying to call NVC but it's busy.

I just spoke to someone at NVC and she was very nice, she told me that she can see that they are working on my case, she just can't say how long more it can take, and I asked her about the updates that we are getting and she assure me that everytime I see an update, that means one of the consular is doing something on the case.

Thank you very much for sharing this information. I am sure there must be for right or wrong reason our case was put in AP. By the way I am older than my wife. Because of age difference, If Embassy suspects fraud. By all means Embassy should initiate through investigation. I have no issue and no problem. I firmly believe anyone migrating or coming for study / visit to USA should be investigated. This investigation should not go on for months and years.

My frustration is about delay. Whoever is responsible AP processing should put his or her act together and complete process in reasonable time frame. When I read Embassies reply “can’t predict AP completion time”. I feel very sad/bad and naturally makes me depress. AP has wasted and is wasting all of us precious time.

That time loss is not fair to beneficiaries and visa applicants. All the beneficiaries and visa applicants in Embassy eyes are fraudulent. This is the perception and starting point. The way VO at the start of interview asks questions. That show VO doesn’t have positive thinking about your case. After interview for right or wrong reason VO enters case in AP.

Embassy personnel know Pakistani custom about marriage. They know marriage is very sensitive issue in Pakistani culture. No family in their right mind will stage marriage drama and invite relative to wedding. Just for the benefit of USA visa. Marriage is serious issue in Pakistani society. Embassy should not take it lightly.

It doesn’t mean fraudulent marriage doesn’t happen. Of course some people may have submitted fraudulent marriage papers. Over all marriages in Pakistan are true marriages.

Don't pick it all apart, it is what it is and what we think is a fraud indicator or not does not matter. The CO's view is that the burden of proof

that we are genuine lies with us. If we convince them of our genuine true relationship then we have nothing to worry about.

May there be an end to everyone's heartbreaking separation and AP soon for whatever reason they have put us through it.

Unless a new law is drafted there will be this unreasonable long AP time table.

If anyone can move to their spouses then do it and if not then be patient and accept the journey for what it is.

Live life and stop merely existing in a "frozen in time" mode.

It is hard but we might as well make the best of it. Moping around being depressed will not help anything.

I have been through it myself and understand it. 16 months of AP, then returned case to USCIS and then starting all

over again with another petition. We met in 2009. We are still fighting to be together.

i dont think so there are any walk ins allowed even for US CITIZEN.. its just email or mail now.

have no idea when this will end. everyday is like killing your self slowly in tension of just to see the word ISSUED.
