It's not a matter of whether or not an older woman marrying a younger man SHOULD be a red flag. The point is, that it IS a red flag to immigration. Yes, I understand that its perfectly normal for an older woman/younger man in PK, but here in the states its not the same. There are plenty of older men who marry younger women here, but when its the other way around its a big deal. Case in point when celebrities Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher were together and then married, the age difference was constantly pointed out in the tabloids and media. When its the other way around, no one bats an eye.

FOR every VISAJOURNEY philosopher telling us that wife older than husband is a red flag, I ask you to contact CAROLYNHOTSTUFF.

Carolyn has grown up kids and not in child bearing age. Her husband is in the US. I know a woman who got married to a Palestinian and she was 18 years older than her husband. She was at that point of her age where 1 or 2 children are possible but she was diabetic with insulin dependent diabetes. So you might know about age, you dont know about other problems going inside a person.

And its not just husband and wife stuff. My boss's friend got a job in WORLDBANK but couldnt join because of this stupid AP.

One can never ever say a man getting married with an older woman is deemed as fraud because no one knows in what circumstances a person married. I am 100% sure that anyone who is getting married with someone thousands of miles away from him/her is purely because of love.

Criticism is very easy but the fact is that Visa Officers are given discretionary powers to ruin the lives of any human. US embassy's decisions CAN NOT be challenged in any US court because US embassies are out of US territories. Even if you give thousands of dollars to attorneys, they cant help you 0.0001% in your case.

I am not a VJ philosopher but am telling you that age difference is clearly printed on the fraud referral sheet, which part of that do you

not understand ? It's a fact not a philosophy. I am familiar with Carolynhotstuff's story and it has nothing to do with what I said. I did not say the age gap 'should' be a fraud consideration, I said it is. Period.

I did not say any couple with an age difference will be automatically denied. They will be looked at closer and sometimes are put in AP. Period.

You are either not comprehending my post or want to twist my words.

What are you talking about you can't sue ? Of course you can. Not that I suggest anyone 'should' before you read that into my

words, but it is entirely possible to sue the government for a visa outcome. With prolonged AP a Writ of Mandamus can be filed to force them

into a decision, that however can back fire with the result of a denial at which point you have other options. Ask Carolynhotstuff yourself about

that since you brought her name up. Get it right and stop telling people age difference has no influence in the process. It clearly does according

to the CONSULAR FRAUD SHEET REFERRAL of which you are clueless and have never seen.

It's not a matter of whether or not an older woman marrying a younger man SHOULD be a red flag. The point is, that it IS a red flag to immigration. Yes, I understand that its perfectly normal for an older woman/younger man in PK, but here in the states its not the same. Exactly.

Exactly brother. If we talk about Muslim traditions in Pakistan, age difference is never a taboo.

How much US Embassy staff knows about Pakistan? There are many many families where woman is 10 plus years elder than man. My neighbour was 11 years younger than his wife and they are married for more than 3 decades. And honestly, everywhere we can see such marriages because our Prophet married a woman 15 years elder than him.

If we talk about the US, there are many marriages when woman is older than her husband. So I totally reject this presumption which Ebunoluwa has made.

I would only pray to God to make things easier for me and my wife because our intentions are pure.

You can reject my pointed out fact as much as you chose to but the reality remains that all embassies go by fraud indicator guidelines printed on

paper which some of us have seen and which you refuse to acknowledge that it exists. If you do not understand what that means then

do some research. Google is your friend, learn the difference between what is a fact and what is a presumption concerning the fraud referral

sheet.

As to the culture in the USA, depending on where and who you are, age is still an issue of some (not all)people looking at you like a one eyed monster.

I know because I am older than my fiance. I have no issue with it, you have no issue with it....understand that the embassy DOES have an issue

with it whether you like it or not. How much does the embassy understand about Pakistan or an African country ? They think they know it all

but really have outdated guidelines in regards to tribal and cultural issues and make discretionary decisions based on their personal bias

and perspective mixed with half understood customs and leaving no room for individual thinking.

That is a fact.

Mohsin + Soc.Pl+ Sajid LA all r in our prayers and u also pray for all of others ... by the way I tell you an intersting story found on FB few months ago...a 19 years old Kenyan boy married online with an american lady of age 54. She came to Kenya and started living with him and he got visa on same day of interview and right now they both are in Michigan USA...what u people say...interesting / amazing/incredible/astonishing / nail biting ...what wud u say...

I pray for all to come out of AP soon and be lucky like that boy...

Living with him changes everything. Age gap is only one of many fraud indicators. Living together can overcome such an age gap.

You have to think in terms of a variety of things making up the final decision, not only age gap. Though all CO's go by the fraud referral sheet,

each point is carefully considered and weighed in the balance of the whole, the final decision rests upon a CO's discretion, which is often

an assumption or even a 'gut feeling' by the interviewing CO.

Soccerplayer, Maabish, Faisal, 300, Prince, Alipdx, Sajida anyone got update today

From my prospective age difference isn't an issue it's probably a red flag

i remember when i had my interview for K-1 CO asked my wife he doesn't want to be rude

but there is a age difference between me and my wife. i ended up getting AP not cos of

age gap. again i had to go for my interview for my CR-1 visa another CO raised the same

question believe me, he told me he is giving me the visa today approving me.

knowing that there is a age difference, what merely put me on AP was the last name

thing. so every CO determines each case from his own prospective, every case differs

i don't think age difference can ever prolong your time period of AP, there are variety

of things need to be done. as far as Pakistan is concerned which is our native land

Pakistan isn't only the country where people have been confronting longer AP.

if you ever a glance on different countries portal you will notice that too.

People are Afghanistan, India, KSA, UAE, Morroco, Amman and rest alot

Have been going to longer AP, Some fraud countries Like Nigeria, Dominic Republic

They get refusal on Spot , if you research more you will acquire precise information

we only make our own assumptions, we don't even know what exactly causing us this

AP, i have seen folks carrying out Plenty of evidence yet they are put in AP

so we can never know,

Janetusman, Ebunoluwa, 300 thanks for your comments.

I did ask age question to Islamabad US Embassy in my email. If age difference between me and my wife has anything to do with AP. Reply I received “NO”. I also asked ISB US Embassy is there any law in US. Which bars marriage between two adults due to age difference? Again ISB US Embassy replied “NO” there is no restriction.

You all know there no such law on the books about adult age difference related restriction for marriage in US. That bars that couple cannot get marriage due to age difference. If US Embassies have concerned about couples age difference. US government should pass a law as Saudi Arabia did about age difference.

About 6 months ago I called DOS and asked them the same question, if age difference between me and my wife is the cause for AP. DOS lady replied "NO". DOS lady replied there is another reason for your case being in AP and said she can't tell me the reason.

Even the criminals know the cause of their case in US. Here no one (Embassy, DOS, UCIS, and NVC) is sharing the cause of AP with us. I am sure there are fraudulent immigration cases out there. That doesn't meant all the immigration case should be handle with fraud stick.

In my case, my wife's maternal grandparents, maternal grand uncles, uncles with their wives and other family members attended wedding. My sisters, their daughters with their husband and other family members attended our wedding. At the time of the interview my wife shared all wedding picture with VO. We have submitted all documentary proof and necessary paper work.

I don't what else will satisfy ISB US Embassy or people responsible for processing AP. The only other thing comes to my mind is to submit video of intimate moments with wife or better yet perform live show in front of ISB US Embassy staff.

` I bet they will say this act is fake too and my case will be still in AP. They will still have doubts about our marriage due to age difference or for another stupid reason. Who knows, what VO was thinking during or after the interview. AP discretionary power has been bestowed upon VO to make our life miserable and at times mess up our relationship.

Dear reader in this forum. After submitting all required documents and filling every requirement. VO still has doubts about case. VO should share those concerns with the applicant or beneficiary and then start the inquiry through AP or by other means as his or heart desire. BUT please conclude that DAM inquiry in a timely manner. Do not let linger AP for months and years. We live in electronic age and do not use mules for travelling.

We have NO information’s. All we know the case is in AP. Why it is in AP? We don’t know. NO one has shared with us the reason and cause of our case being in AP. Sometime I think may be after the interview VO thought he or she is too UGLY to migrate to US and initiate AP.

You people may be laughing what I just stated BUT that’s true. No one knows VO state of mind during the interview. May have personal dislike or believes about certain nationality, race and creed. Any way my thoughts and prayers are with those beneficiaries. Who are in pathetic, miserable, agonizing AP.? I hope after this agonizing wait, our love ones one day by the grace of ALMIGHTY will get the visa and join us in the States. Inshallah.
