Me: US citizen

Husband: Canadian entered on an F1 and hasn't left since our marriage. We have mostly all the applications filled out ready!

My husband and I are getting ready to send in all of our forms and checks. Do we need to included all of our documented evidence? Bills, Credit card statements, insurance, bank statements? We were told we shouldn't include it in the packet and just bring it to the interview.

We are skeptical of this advice and starting to wonder. Also, is there ALWAYS an interviewing process no matter the situation? Or do they sometimes look at the evidence and not need an interview?

thanks,

Maria

As with all advice, you have to consider the source. Who was it that told you not to include it?

You should include your evidence of bona fide marriage with the application. AoS interviews are compulsory for all adjustments except for a K-1.

Do not submit anything you're not comfortable submitting. A marriage cert, divorce decree if applicable, pictures, and a joints lease or mortgage, car insurance, utility bills, etc. will suffice if you do not want to submit bank and CC info.

mariaandnic,

Follow the guide that is on a tab at the top of this website. The step by step procedures are there. This process has nothing to do woth what you want. It has everything to do woth what the government wants. And many times along the way you might wonder why....it is just that way. Sometimes it makes no sense.
