I did not get anything from USCIS.

I contacted my Senator's office this morning, and they forwarded me this email.

Yes, I received this directly. I'm signed up for all kinds of emails from USCIS, so I assume this was sent to their mailing distribution lists rather than the parties who participated in yesterday's fax/email blast.

Since the transfer announcement a month ago it's been pretty clear that USCIS was aware of the problem and trying to fix it, but I'm extremely happy they took note of our complaints and formally acknowledged what's going on -- especially in such a timely fashion. I like knowing that a group effort will get a response even though individual complaints will not. It's also nice for future filers to know things should be back to normal in May, too. I was surprised the email contained any new information at all, but very pleased to have it!

Just to be clear, no policy changed with USCIS because of this campaign. Because of it, you got an email (good!) and an estimate when times would be back to normal (also good!) But no policy changed. USCIS has known there was a problem and they have been working on it, though slowly. That is why they made the new NBC center and the like. You can see that approvals have picked up significantly lately. It's good to get them to respond, though.

I urge you to contact your congresspeople and senators.

Although I am a July files, I have been in contact with my Senator. He actually responded! I got two letters from him. The second one says "Thank you for contacting my office about the problem you are having with USCIS. I have been in contact with the agency regarding your situation and will let you know as soon as I obtain a response. Please let me know if you receive any additional information or if I may be of any further assistance."

While it doesn't solve the problem, it is a step in the right direction...! I hope to get that NOA2 soon.... Maybe a nice Xmas present for me? :)

People! No negative thinking! No raining on our parade!

Let's collectively try the "power of positive thinking". Whether you believe in it or not, try it out.. Pray if you're religious, visualize it if you're not...

Let's try to imagine the NOA2 arriving... it's in the mail truck.... it's in our mail box.... it's in our hands.. we open the envelope... "approved!"

Let's really try to be more optimistic!

The USCIS is not trying to screw us over. Government entities tend to work slow. Let's try to change our way of thinking and keep hoping for the best.!

10/22/13 - Walk-in biometrics successful (Columbus OH office) - DAY 16

11/22/13 - Expedited AP and EAD approved!! (EAD status changed to "card production") - DAY 47
11/30/13 - Received combo card and two copies of paper AP (weird) - DAY 55

It good they finally gave us a time frame. Now I am worried if they send me a RFE next month I will not be able to respond. I will be with my wife and girls for those of you that have RFE how long do they give you to respond. Also I am trying to find out how long they give you to respond to NVC. If anyone has this information please post or email me
