Here is my problem: I didnt apply for SSN before my i94 got expired because the lady at SSA told that we should submit the ead/aos. So last friday nov 15 i received my EAD and went to SSA nov 19. The lady told that she cannot verify my name or my EAD whatever and come back after 2 weeks. My question, do i need to wait for 2 weeks or wait for 10 days or go to the other ssa office?

Eeeekk..My understanding is that if you do not get your SS card before your I94 expires, you need to wait until you have received your work premit. Someone please correct me if i am wrong. I look forward to knowing if this is correct too.

IF you had applied soon after entry into the US, your name in the database would have been your married name. But your EAD is now in your married name, right? So all the clerk SHOULD have needed was your original passport showing maiden name, your marriage certificate, and your EAD in your married name.

I don't know what waiting 2 weeks to "verify your name" is gonna do. It's not like the SAVE database will have your married name suddenly (unless someone does a lot of work to track down proof of your marriage).

I'd wait the two weeks (in case same person sees you and remembers what he/she told you to do). Take in your EAD, passport, and marriage license. They can verify you against the SAVE database with your passport, and see that you are married with your license, and issue a SSN with your EAD.
