Hi

If anyone has been in the same situation as my husband and I perhaps they could answer this question. We are scheduled for our interviews at the US Embassy in London in December - both at the same time of 8:00am. Will we be interviewed together, or separately?

Thanks for any help.

Val

You should be interviewed together.

but isn't it IR5 is for parents? why you and your husband?

Presumably because her and her husband are the parents?

Hi Collie

I will, of course, post again to let you know how the interview went. We have no idea at all what questions they are going to ask, and not sure if I'm looking forward to it. But I am looking forward to going over to live close to our daughter & her family. We won't be able to get there for Christmas, but hopefully we can get everything sorted for mid January or early February.

Will update my time line as well with the additional info as it comes in.

Good luck to your parents.

Could you please let me know the questions they asked ? Would help to prepare my mom for her interview this month.

They didn't really ask any questions. Both of the ladies just chatted really. So I don't think your Mum should be worried. I did a review on the London Embassy review (think it's the only one for an IR5 so it should be easy to find) which you might find useful.

I took some photos but they weren't needed.

Good luck to her, but I don't think she will need it. Provided all the documentation is there and your mum hasn't been denied access to the USA then she'll be fine.

hi,Val!

can i ask you a question please

did you and your husband have two different case #s or you had just one for two of you?

the reason im asking is that i sent two cases for each of my parents at the same time, but for some reasons, they were separated , meaning my mom has already her interview date scheduled, while my dad's case is still at NVC.....

they wanted to have interview together but i dont know if its possible now....

thanks

Hi

Yes we had 2 separate case numbers (they were consecuitive) and they seem to have been dealt with by the NVC together. So we got our interview date on the same day.

I suggest you phone the NVC and ask them to hold your Mum's interview until your Dad's case is complete. The reason I say this is that you only have 6 mths from the date of the medical (when the chest x-ray was taken) before you MUST arrive in the USA - well that is the rule in the UK, not sure where your parents interview is taking place.

I'd try and get it clarified.

Hi VALB47

We would like to learn if both of you (mom and dad) were interviewed together or in separate rooms?

Our interview will be in Montreal. We are also parents of USC applying for a GC through sponsorship.

I thank you in advance for any information you could share with us.

Regards,

Lukiduki

I can only tell you about the process at the London Embassy. We were interviewed together. When we had gone through the security and entered the Embassy we showed our two interview letters and they were put together and we were given only one number for both of us. At the London Embassy they don't have interview rooms, there are just windows which you go to. So we were not separated and had our interviews standing at one of these windows.

If you haven't done so yet, you might want to see if there are any reviews of Montreal in the Embassy Review section of this excellent forum, as we found them very helpful before we went. On the London review section there is only our review for an IR5 visa, but the reviews for the majority (K1) all followed the same pattern.

Good luck

Hello,

I have visited the Reviews of Montreal Consulate up to page 40. I found NO IR5 reviews.

I hope that " interviewing parents together" could be a standard procedure in Montreal as well.

Thank you for sharing your interview experience.
