My K-1 Visa application was approved in August and forwared to the embassy in Moscow on August 22, 2013, but my fiance was never contacted by the embassy or sent any documents. Is this normal? Did I miss doing something or does it always take so long for her to be contacted?

I can use any advice!

Thanks in advance

Ya'll need to contact the embassy! Ours was the same way, we never received anything, I emailed them after 2 months and within a week we had an appointment date for 3 weeks past. I swear, I don't know how things get so confusing but it sure does! Whether it's the mail service or incompetence, I don't know but contact them as soon as possibe (and as kindly as possible!) to find out what's going on. :)

What have you done so far? Have you called NVC to get your case#? If not do so. Than you email the embassy with case# to find out next steps. Or check their website to get the forms and all that necessary for embassy. and scheduling interview. Gertting medical etc.

You should have first got notification of a case# from NVC can take up to 8 weeks. So you need to follow your case from USCIS to NVC to embassy start first at NVC. 603-334-0700.

Report back what you find out.

Same happened to me, except my status at the embassy went from "In transit", to ready, to AP. So two weeks after the AP update, I emailed the embassy asking when I can schedule the interview and next steps. They replied I can move forward with scheduling and provided the following:

(BTW, better hurry, the petition is good for four months from NOA2 date & The Police report takes a month regular processing speed. )

Dear Applicant:

We are pleased to inform you that the Immigrant Visa Unit of U.S. Embassy Moscow has received your approved visa petition and that your case is ready for processing.

You should now visit http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ru to complete the following steps: 1) arrange payment of the $240 visa fee (for each applicant); 2) enter an address to which the visa will be delivered; and 3) schedule your interview appointment. Once you pay the fee and specify the delivery address, you may schedule your interview for any available appointment slot. Please ensure that the date you select falls within four months of the date on which the visa petition was approved. Failure to do so may impact the validity of your visa petition.

All applicants for fiancé (e) visas must comply with the processing requirements detailed at http://moscow.usembassy.gov/iv-fiancee.html .This page provides the most accurate and complete information needed to prepare for your interview including a list of required documents.

Please contact the Call Center at + 7 (495) 745 3388 (local) or 8 800 100 2554 (ITFN) or 1-(703) - 745 5474 from the U.S. or via email (support-russia@ustraveldocs.com) if you have any problems accessing the appointment system. Thank you.

.

Good luck!

Ditto here. I got the same exact letter in an email from the Moscow embassy which I forwarded to my fiancee. After they started the new DS-160 online form, I don't think they (Moscow embassy) send out any packets by mail anymore as the email has all the necessary information.
