I called USCIS a week ago and asked if my case could be sped up due to the fact I am in the Philippines and without power and water is irregular. They took my info and in less than a week I had a notice saying a supervisor will be reviewing it soon. My case should have been getting close to being reviewed anyways as is over 7.5 months.

I called the Embassy first and they said they could do nothing. I asked if I could have filed a DCF and they said yes and my family would have been most likely back in the states early summer this past year. I hope the NVC part will go quicker than the norm. I had hoped when I filed that it would have been a Christmas trip with wife and son but not looking so good.

Bad part is it really is not fun being without any power. Think about 100 deg and no wind and no fan and no cold water or fresh food. I am happy we are OK and things are finally progressing.

Darn it. Sorry. I realize you are not in the US, but if you have a legal residence address in the US, you can look up the legal jurisdiction for your county/city and find the congressperson for your area of the city/county and send them an email to ask them to do a congressional inquiry to help your expedition request.

I am the same as you. I was told a decision would be make on the 19th to expedite, but all I got is that it is under review....no e-mail or text came either

I think it was 2 days and I got the email saying it had been transferred to a local office, then that it was under consideration for expedite followed by the approval to expedite. Think was all done in 5 business days. Hopefully you hear soon.

I did the same last Friday for the same reasons. They told me I'll hear something back between 1-5 business days. I'm not sure it that's really going to happen knowing how USCIS is.

It has been 9 days so I called again. I only got generic response that it is under review...this is a horrible dept. of Homeland Security. My wife is living in the Philippine's and my Government does not reply. I requested expediting on the 11/13/2013 (early morning) and I get today still under review on the evening of 11/21.2013 eve thought I was told I would get response within 5 days.

I just checked and guess what? 8 days from request to expidite.

Now is this the same verbiage as all the petitions? I am still in the Philippines so will have someone check my mail soon and follow up. Just curious if they may send directly to Embassy and bypass NVC, would be nice!

On November 21, 2013, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

For approved applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include USCIS sending notification of the approved application/petition to the National Visa Center or the Department of State. For denied applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include the processing of an appeal and/or motions to reopen or reconsider and revocations.
