Hello everyone, I'm American citizen who married my wife in the Philippines and a I-130 is in process for my wife to get her Visa. my wife is a non US-Citizen. We are planning on having a baby and wanted to know if my wife gives birth in Philippines will my child be American citizen? As me being the father a US American Citizen and my wife is a Non-US Citizen will this be enough evidence for my child to be a permanent US Citizen? Plse help thank you.

thank you for all your helpful information. is the process difficult? and what should I be aware of? Im jus trying to be prepared just incase my wife doesn't get here in Hawaii in time of birth.

I was in a similar situation.My daughter was born before my wifes visa was issued.I did it for my daughter a couple weeks ago.It was at the embassy in Trinidad and Tobago.The whole process of getting the CRBA and passport took about 30 minutes.They look at the docs and then decide if to approve the CRBA.Once they approve it then they process the passport application.I went to the embassy on Nov 5the and they gave me a date of Nov 26th that ot would be ready.On Nov 14th I got an email that my daughters CRBA and passport were ready for pickup....just 9 days later.Hopefully it goes as smoothly for you as it did for us.
