hello i need some help regard the k3 processing and document require for the interview at the usa consular office my wife fill the petition i-130 and we received the NOA notice that it has being received and we have fill the i-130 so my question is that how long does it take it be APPROVED and for it to be send to the us embassy in Lagos Nigeria and what are the document i will have to take to the usa embassy for the interview.

Firstly, I think you have filed for a CR1/IR1 visa, K3 is separate thing. You will get better answers if you know the exact visa you have filed for.

As to how long it will take for your I-130 to be approved, well it depends on when you filed it. The estimates right now is 8-10 months at least.

For your documentation for the embassy, it is best to ask that question in the Nigeria Regional forum..

It appears that you've filed for the I-130. You should receive your NOA1 soon. Once you have that in hand then your wife can file another petition, called the I-129, if its your goal to seek a K3 visa.

okay she has received the NOA notice for i-130 and she just send in the i-129 so i want to ask what is the next step to do?

Now you wait for your NOA2. In the meantime you can look to get all your paperwork ready for the NVC stage.

Look at the NVC threat, read the first 2 posts and all the links that are on them and anything relating to NVC (National Visa Center)

You have to wait to see if it will even be a K3 visa or if it will be a CR1.

If theI-129Fpetition is approved and reaches the NVC before an approved I-130 then the NVC will give you a number and you can set up your interview with Lagos. If the I-130 reaches the NVC at the same time or before the I-129F then the I-129F will be closed by the NVC meaning your K3 visa route will be closed. You would then have to continue on the CR1 visa path with document intake and invoices at the NVC.

keep in mind the K3 is NOT faster than the CR1 99% of the time and the route is closed when the petitions reach the NVC.

K3= 1. File I-130

2. When u receive the NOA1 from your CR1

3. File I-129 & include the NOA1 from the CR1

4.When u have filed both petition u are on the K3 path.
