Bowie State University cancels student health plans as premiums increase 1,500 percent

Right. Young healthy college students and their parents need this like a hole in the head. Rice University has raised the premium for Sergey from $560 per year to $1540. Nearly triple what he paid last year. YAY Obama! It is affecting tens of thousands of other students across the country. Ironically students were strong supporters of Obama...that is eroding as they now get to PAY for that decision.

If you are not a liberal at age 20 you have no heart. If you are not a conservative at age 40, you have no brain. These young people are being taught one of the most valuable lessons they will get in college.

For decades universities offered very good, very low cost health insurance to students, tailored for their needs and based on the risk factors for their "pool", often using campus facilities for most primary care. Now, of course, these plans do not qualify and must be compliant. Sure...Obama says they do not have to comply with the law...for one more year...but that is also up to state insurance boards and providers to risk underwriting plans which do not comply with the law.

The whole thing is disaster
