Your household size is at least 3 if you are bring a fiance and child and without a current and continuing job your past wages mean nothing. You will need a current job or a co sponsor

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

If you are currently unemployed...then your current income is $0. It doesn't matter how much money you made in the past, if your current income is below poverty guidelines you need to include other assets.

Check the recent poverty guidelines and add yourself, fiance and however many kids you or he has then look at the guide and it will tell you how much income you should have to be able to qualify. You will need assets and a co-sponsor who can meet the guidelines for at least three previous years. Good luck!
