This question has been on my mind for a while. What is the order of the expiration date on the two year green card ? Is it MM/DD/YYYY per all the government related legal paper works?

The expiration is in M/D/Y format

Oddly enough, the card gives my birthday in D/M/Y format! Never noticed that till now.

It's the US government so they use the wrong date method (m/d/y) instead of the right one (d/m/y).

Did you land in US in January or November - you should know this! If you landed in January, then you are right.

Not all people arrive on CR-1 visas, so their date of "landing" isn't relevant. If someone came on a K-1 visa then their GC will be dated the day the GC was approved, sometimes up to a year after the person first came to the US with their K-1.

You are right.

The immigrant landed here on July 23, 2011 and presuming that they got married within 90 days (requirement), the application to adjust status could have been done sometime around October/ November 2011 - so her window perhaps is open depending on the GC expiry date.

Harpa is right. I adjusted from k-1, and my expiration date is exactly January 11th, 2015

She has said that her GC expires 2015. We have quite a number of days before 2015. Repeat, she says 2015. There is roughly a year to go before that window flings open.
