Please remove if this has already been posted. Today I got to meet an uscis officer from the San Antonio office who came to fort hood where my husband is stationed. While talking with him, he mentioned that there's a policy that allows Military members and their dependents to have their I693 completed by their military doctors FREE of charge. He gave me a copy of the policy and told me to spread the news. I got the link posted below on uscis.gov using the policy memo number PM-602-0074.

Thank you for posting, this will be useful to alot of military families on this site. I was not sure if it was possible to see my Primary Care Manager for my medical so I just went to the USCIS designated civil surgeons. Just completed the process. I'll be filing to Tricare for reimbursement.

You're welcome! Same here I didn't know until yesterday that I could use my PCM. Looks like I've been filing a claim too. I didn't even think of that until you mentioned it. Good stuff.

I realize this is a super old thread, but any chance this includes retirees who are still on Tricare?

Military spouses can get a medical examination I-693 free of charge. Their insurance covers this form. But the problem is if you ask your primary care doctor to fill out this form, she or he will probably refuse. How to find this doctor: just google "Citizenship and Immigration services of (here you should write the base where your spouse is stationed), for example "citizenship and immigration services of Fort Bragg". Then Google will find you an address and a phone number of USCIS branch on the military post of your spouse. Next, you just need to call them and tell that you need I-693 to be filled. They will give you the address and the phone number of the doctor, who will fill out I-693 for you free of charge. You just have to call and make an appointment for I-693. It takes about 3 weeks to get this form done.
