Has anyone in here that got their file transfer to HCM in the time frame of Nov 15 to 20 receive the Package 3 from HCM yet? My fiance has not receive her package yet. I called them this morning and they told me that they sent out the package 3 on the Dec 1. but til now i have not receive it yet. They told me if i don't receive the package by next week. I can come there to pick it up. The lady from the consulate is really rude. Even I spoke to her in Vietnamese very polite but a got a rude treatment really pissed me off. Oh well, hehehe i am in the same boat with the previous people here. Anyway, if you guy can update so we can share the experience.. Quick question, what do i have to send back to the consulate.

Only the DS-230 part I and II form? or

1. a copy of her Birth Certificate

2. a copy her CMND

3. her Police Report

4. her Single Status

5. my I-134 form of support, included Letter of employment, pay stubs, Income tax of 2005,

6. copy of her Passport

7. Ds-2001 or DS-2000 form

Any input will be very appreciate.

STL_HCMC,

How about the Part II of the DS-230? Do i have to send that part II of the DS-230 back? But when i read on the instruction page on the page # 2. They said send a copy of each requirement back and keep another copy to prove if needed on the interview. It caused a little bit of confusion. I do have additional copy of each requirement. Do you think i should have my girl send it in together on the package 3? Where do you send it to? is it to 4 Le Duan? Cuz i think they lost my Package 3. Should i send in the already filled Ds-230 and all the stuff i got to them now or wait til next week to pickup my package 3 and send it in?

Hi CK&Tydi,

Unless things have changed since we received our packet 3 instructions dated April 2006, the following is direct quotation from the packet 3 Instruction Package for "K" Visa Applicants:

"STEP ONE: Obtain the following documents for yourself and any children who will travel with you. Do NOT send any documents to this office. Keep them with you and bring them to your interview. Please obtain the original documents and/or certified copies for an appropriate authority for yourself and each family member who will accompany you to the United States."

"STEP TWO: ...present all evidence relevant to your application at the visa interview."

"STEP THREE: ...complete in English and sign the enclosed Form DS-230 Part I, Application for Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration, Part I - Biographic Data for yourself and your accompanying children, if any."

"STEP FOUR: As soon as you have obtained all of the documents for your application, carefully read the statement on the following page, sign and date it, and return the form to us along with Form DS-230 Part I as explained in Step Three. You will not be scheduled for an appointment until you sign and return this checklist and Form DS-230 Part I. After we receive your form, we will schedule you for a visa interview at the earliest possible date."

I would wait until your fiance(e) receives the packet 3 instructions before returning anything to the US Consulate in HCMC. Looking at your questions in this thread, it seems as though the detailed instructions in packet 3, in English and Vietnamese, will benefit you and help guide you further.

Best of luck!

As i read from the instruction, in Step One at the end it said. SUBMIT ONLY ONE COPY OF EACH DOCUMENT, EXCEPT PHOTOGRAPHS, WITH THE VISAA APPLICATION. WE ADVISE YOU TO OBTAIN THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS IN DUPLICATE, AS THIS WILL ENABLE YOU TO PROVIDE IDENTICAL COPIES IF THE FIRST SET IS LOST OR DAMAGED.

This what it caused the confusion for me. Do I send it back in with the check list? Since you said so, I will wait for another week to see what happen. In the meant time i will have those documents translate in English such as Birth Certificate, Single Status, and Police Report.

What else should i be prepare for? Let me know. Also, my time is running out, I will be back in the state on the 26. So i want to make sure i get everything ready for her before i go back home. Man, dealing with these government worker in Vietnam really a pain. Also those damn crooks on the other side of the Consulate Office, it really bugged me when i went there yesterday.

My fiancee and I sent back both the DS-230 part 1 and part 2 with packet three, we thought it better to play it safe. That and I saw that even in packet four, the DS-230 part 2 wasnt needed. We also checked off the boxes on the check list and signed and dated it then sent that back too, again, to be safe. The instructions were kind of confusing, I had to read them a few times to be sure I got everything. That sucks you havnt gotten your packet 3 yet, i know you were hoping to get that while you were in HCM. You just have to send back the DS-230(s?) and another little form that she has to sign with the packet, plus maybe the check list if you want. We also did both the vietnamese side and english side of the forms, just in case a vietnamese person couldnt read the english, we didnt want to wait for her to find a translater, or the other way around....hope you the best.

Thanks for the tips. I did send them an email from my government work account to the consulate but still got no respone back from them hope i will see something tomorrow and something in the Snail Mail tomorrow. Gosh, now it is almost 5 pm but no mail at all so hope for the best i will see something tomorrow.

Today, i did sort out all the forms and evidence stack it on a side for her and need to get some of the photo i took with her and will have it print out tomorrow. As i read through all the instructions were posted from the forums, I just need to send in the part 1 of DS-230 and the DS-2001 form. I was thinking to send in those requirements from the instruction list. Do you guy think it is a good ideas or not?

Also, i don't see they required the Birth Certificate, Single Status, and Police Report to be in English on the Instruction List. But i will have it translate anyway.

Well, today one of her uncle will be in town. He said he can call some of his friends that work in the Consulate to push my file hehhehe. hope it will work though.. Anyway too too hot and humid in Saigon. Time to go take cold shower..... Wish you guys all the best......

Good luck with pushing things along...though dont put too much hope on it, the people there seem to like their jobs. My cousin's best friend is actually the Chief Consular. I also know another American that has a lot of high friends in there...no luck for me. Though maybe since your fiancee's uncle is probably Vietnamese and his friends there are most likely also, they may take some bribes. I dont know if you still need things translated or not, too. Most likely not, but it was a cheap thing to do. Plus when these girls need to get drivers licenses in the States they may need to present those documents....

A quick update!

I got tired of waiting and dont' see any email reply from the HCM Consulate. I came 4 Le Duan this morning with my American Passport. I got a better treatment. The laddy in the booth was rude to another person infront of me (cuz she a beneficary) When my turn to the windows, I told her that I need a package 3 because i have not receive it in the mail yet. She gave me the package and spoke to me nicely when I shown my passport to her.

Anyway, i tried to rush home to get my girl to sign the paper and the DS-230 form and ran back to submit it. The damn place close before 11 AM so i had to travel back home again hehhe gosh, wasted some money on the taxi. Anyway on the way back to my girl place, i stop by the MTV coffee shop to take a break hehehhe. Around 1:30PM, i came back and submit the paperwork. The same laddy spoke to me really nice and she stamped the forms and said go home and wait for the next appointment. Gosh, at least i can go back to the state happy now....... Hope my girl will get her package 4 early in January... and be in the state befor April.

Good luck everyone that have the similar date like me get their Package 3 soon.......

As i noticed the fee went up a bit. $175 bux fee.

Now time for a Massage........heehheh. I deserve it .......... :dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:
