I can give you a rosy story about ORD as I have been through there many times but my experience is not from a "visitor" or "intended immigrant" POV.

I'm sorry, I don't understand this reply.... ORD is Chicago? He will not be a visitor, but entering on K1 visa. So, I don't get it... maybe I just haven't had my coffee yet.

Chicago has more than one airport.....

ORD = Chicago O'Hare International Airport

MDW = Chicago Midway Airport

If you read beyond "visitor" and read "Intended immigrant" which would cover K-1 arrivals.

Yes, I did read that, nonetheless, you shared no experience - but thanks anyway... and yes, obviously since this is an int'l flight it would be thru the int'l airport. Having no experience whatsoever w/ Chicago, I didn't know the airport code there. Forgive me for not knowing everything already. Thanks!

 That's the way to treat people who are trying to help you!

and this was helpful... how?

eta: btw, in case u didn't notice, it was me who was defending u in the other thread - come to find out, it was pointless, b/c yet again, you were indeed stirring sh!t. whatever........................................................................

.

Now wait a minute....wasn;t that classic Sarah sarcasim towards the other posters and not Noura?

No, not this time. I was reading this thread and just can't figure out why Noura's post was so rude.

 congrats on the both of u uniting. Your question has stirred up questions in my mind. I was under the impression that you pick your POE. Also, I live in North Carolina and whenever I go to Morocco, I have to fly from NC to JFK and then take Royal Air Moroc to Morocco. So if JFK is the only airport that gives a temp. EAD, can he use that temp in NC.

It was not my intention to be rude - I merely stated that I didn't understand the post and I found no information regarding POE in Chicago whatsoever....

To the poster re: Chicago.... I meant no rudeness, I truly didn't - I did not (and still don't) see any info you may have posted regarding the POE.

NEVERMIND.... THANKS TO YOU ALL, BUT I'LL FIGURE IT OUT MYSELF - I have no need for this turning into a spitting match.:blink::whistle:

You do, for the most part, choose your POE. It was our intention to book thru JFK - push came to shove on booking his ticket and the only affordable, available flight ended up coming thru Chicago. He booked it, I found out after the fact. Good new is: He'll be here this week and at this point I could give a sh!t abt temp EAD....

Noura congratulations. I must have read too much into it but to me it seemed like you just weren't very appreciative of his answer.

I hope Said gets here with no problems I wouldn't worry about it too much. How come he can't come through JFK and get his temp EAD ? What about doing last minute or whatever through RAM and coming through JFK?

You asked for a rosy story. I can tell you that ORD is not the "Big monster" as some might report it to be. I have had much worse experiences at JFK. However, I did not post it because I knew you would accept it because it was not from the ME/NA perspective and threfore pointless.

YMMV

Thank you kindly for your input - I hope it all goes smoothly. I just have in-laws at JFK in customs/immigration who could have helped the process go smoothly (ie: someone to meet him there and walk him to front of the line, minimizing the waiting). Everytime I have travelled from Maroc, my SIL has sent a customs agent to meet me at the plane, walk me thru all checkpoints and minimized any hassles/delays I may have otherwise had. It's just nice knowing people are looking out for you in places. I wish I knew someone in ORD.

Everything will go through just fine. How much of a lay over before his next flight? Checked the Chicago weather for this week- no snowstorms- chance of rain on Thursday but not particularly cold for Chicago. All looks good there!

thanks, mbp, for checking into weather for me (F) . I don't know flight details yet, hopefully I'll have them later today. I hope the layover is long enough so he doesn't miss his connection if immigration takes their sweet time.

And thank you all - sorry if it seemed like I got a little testy, if I did, it wasn't intentional... being pre-menstrual does not help this week!;)
