So, my I551 stamp expired in August so I went to get another stamp after making Infopass appointment. I got another stamp on my passport for one more year and the officer said that they are very back logged with a lot of cases here in Dallas so they will start calling people for interviews soon.

After about 2 weeks of my stamping, I got a letter to appear for my biometrics since the one I had provided had expired as it had been more than 2 years. So I went in and did my biometrics and WAITINGGGGG FOR INTERVIEW!!!

You must have the patience of a saint by now! I hope things go speedier for you ASAP!

Be prepared for the eternal waiting game. Be prepared for average news.

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

The interview went well. It lasted about 30 minutes. We were not separated for any duration of the interview. We showed our new evidences and explained our circumstances. The office was very nice and understanding. He kept some of our evidence and said that he would recommend us for the 10 year card. He said that we should hear something in the mail within a month about the decision. He also said that the case will be approved after his supervisor signs off on the case and he would recommend us for the 10 year card.

I really thought that I would get the decision today. Is that normal for the 10 year card that the decision has to be made by a supervisor and signed off? Does anybody else have experienced such situation where the decision was not on the spot then and there at the end of the interview?

I would like to hear what other people have gone through.

Wow 751 you do have alot of patience. I'm currently going through the same long wait. Oct 2016 will be two years that i applied for ROC and nothing yet. NO RFE or interview. When i went to get another extension, was told that i will be called for an interview in January and its March, still no letter for interview or any form of updates.

Hopefully you hear from them soon.

I did not want to file N400 as the country of my birth does not have any provision for dual citizenship. The US is okay with holding dual citizenship but my native country does not allow dual citizenship. Eventually I will file for naturalization but at this point of time I an sticking with Permanent Resident status.
