I didn't..... what? I don't understand what you think you're winning.

Are you mad because liberals think healthcare is a right? It sound like that's the case and now you think you have a gotcha moment because you're pointing out that some people will lose their healthcare "right"

Yes, they will lose their plan because their insurance company has changed their plan so they can continue to make the same profit margins they did before the ACA. Those that lose their plan will still be eligible for a new plan offered from other or the same providers. Some will cost less and some will cost more. I don't see why this is the end of the word. Its a gotcha moment for the president because he said this wouldn't happen. So he screwed up. Good for you guys, throw a parade or something.

Yeah I'm ok with it because they can get another one. And some of those 5 million will be able to find a cheaper one. Some won't. That sucks. But not enough to throw the whole thing out.

I don't think you will get anywhere with cogent rationale and logic.

One post removed for the use of an impermissible referent -- a two-word split of a usually one-word, seven-letter term beginning with "lib."

VJ Moderation

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Nice post. Derp

One of the best defenses of Obamacare I have seen.

We should not forget that the emloyer based plans were given a waiver before Obama gave everyone else a waiver and that next year some 90-150 million employer based plans will be canceled as not being in compliance with Obamacare either.

Should happen just in time for the 2014 elections.

Republicans are gleefully watching

Sure he will. When the employer based plans get canceled a year from now it should be interesting. Don'tcha think?

And how is that the President's "ACA" allows insurance companies to change plans to "maintain priofit margins" rofl.gif

Boy, you're good at this. I am so burned.

No one really cares. What is important is that electable Dems get burned.

Any plan which allows insurers to simply make a few changes and get to "keep their profit margins" which we were told...

1. was the problem to begin with

2. Wouldn't happen

Is sure to get Dems unelected. Dear Leader told everyone they would save (at least) $2500 per year. Not "some of you will pay less and some will pay more if your insurance company doesn't change anything to maintain their profit margins".

Can you even be serious???? rofl.gif

Remember "Read my lips: No new Taxes" Ask GHW Bush how that worked out for him. Since Obama has protected himself by implenting his law after the 2012 election, it leaves the Dems (the ONLY ones who voted for it) out on the limb.

works for me.

I agree that what we were told is a lie. Yes. was I not clear? I really try to be clear, but someone always has to ask "So you mean...?"

I mean what I say. An "affordable" care act that allows the providers of the insurance to make simple changes to increase their profit margins would be ludicrous.

I agree that GandD has no clue what he is talking about and is simply grasping at a way to make excuses for his President who has F'd up royally. Since GandD does not need to get elected...he can do that. The idea that this plan is "OK" and that this is "no big deal" is ridiculous.

No you weren't terribly clear, unless I am to assume some sort of pseudo-celebrity "don't you know who I am?" thing going on.

Thanks for clarifying. You didn't actually agree with what GandD said (which was implied by agreeing to Gegel's post that implied that what was written was coherent and logical), you just hijacked both posts for your own purposes.

You're suggesting that 150 million of the 180 million employer based policies currently in place do not meet the minimum standards of the ACA. Does Obamacare really set the bar that high?

If 80% of current employer based policies don't even meet the pathetic minimum standards of Obamacare, another 40 million people can't even get health insurance at all, and 60 million more are already covered by Uncle Sam, then we don't need to lament the demise of the current system. It seems to already be something of an illusion. Most of us are screwed if we get sick anyway.

It's too bad. There was a perfectly good opportunity in 2009 to hammer out a deal on a system that maybe could have worked. There are numerous templates around the world. We could have cherry picked the best of them. Unfortunately congress bent over. On both sides of the aisle. What a sight that must have been.
