hello everyone! my case is still inder AP. The email sent to my fiancee assking for "evidence of substantial income". During my interview the CO told me that I have to repeat medical, without any written request to do medical. I went to the medical clinic the next day after my interview. My dilemma is " I have a history of PTB and done with my medication, which I did in 2008. Since then I regularly visited my doctor every year for follow up but it remain inactive and even in my last medical in st. Lukes turn out negative. I tried to beg the doctors in st. lukes during my medical fir the 2nd time that if I dont need to go through the sputum culture since the result of my sputum of my first med just came out last Aug. 5 but they told me that its the Usembassy requirement to wait for another 2 months for the sputum culture. I felt so down because of it, my sputum smear result came out negative and now I have to go back to bantayan Island and wait for the sputum culture.

Is there anybody out there knows what should I do, if theres a way to appeal to the embassy regarding my medical. Its very difficult for me to travel with my son,I need to pulled him out in school.please I need your help. God bless!

Hi ana2013,

I know sometimes the roads we travel or walked never ends. As if you're getting near the end the longer the road winds. I had too a trouble in patience but as you mentioned God will help you. You can't do any shortcut for any CO' judgement. They're just doing what is right for their job even if it seems unfair to you. Try to do 1 step at a time. Do what is asked? If it involves time, try to gather patience and strength. Wait and by the time you know it, you're done.

I don't have any answer to your question. But i think what they did is legitimate. That is their policy. I had been in sputum culture too and after my interview i was put on AP and 59days after my interview, my medical will expire because it is only good for 3 months.

Have u gotten you visa already?...The reason i am asking is that, they will tell u to redo ur medical once the visa is issued..Or else ur medical will expire again if ur visa has not been issued.

I dont have my visa yet,I was told to repeat my med during my intrview but no written request to do it. I am aware of my case that I have to wait for 2 months thats why I started my med. so I will wait for the culture result then I will have my son medical also.

No, you'll just have to be patient a bit longer. They asked you to repeat the medical because it expired, and SLEC wants you to do a sputum because they want to be sure your TB is cleared. They do this for a good percentage of people, even though most of them turn out negative.

Just be sure you don't let the new medical expire this time.

thanks maricel. I know it takes alot of patience, it hurts because this is not my first to be in a long process even here in the philippines, opportunity is limited for me and sometimes I have to fight with my situation. the scar in my lungs will be forever visible, I dont have vices and I am good patient. Its been my 3rd trips from cebu to manila and I have to make another one soon and we dont even that would be the last. I dont feel any excitement anymore thinking of the wedding. Now I am here in manila waiting, my livelihood destroyed yolanda. Very confusing. I know the Lord will light my way and grant my wishes.

thanks, well we dont know. If they will make decision before my medical expired then I dont have to do the 3rd one. hahaha!imagine my PTB been inactive for 5years. I think if ur positive they will allow you to travel as long as you will report to the health dept and continue taking ur meds.

I'm not sure the reason why your previous medical expired, but if you get an interview right after the sputum results are submitted in 8 weeks, then you should have at least 4 more months left to spare, so you'll be fine. The only reason why you would need a third medical is if the sputum results were positive, at which point SLEC will require 6 months of treatment.

A very well then. That might explain some of the hair splitting debate that went on between Hank and a couple of other guys in an earlier thread on the validity of the medical/visa. :D I'll continue to stay out of it lol.
