My husband and I sent in the AOS paperwork in early October. I'm a student doing an unpaid internship so although we have quite a bit in savings, I sent in a I-864 with my mother's information just because I haven't had an income for over a year.

Unfortunately, last week we received a request for more documents from the immigration office. It said I needed to send in a I-864 with my own information (as the sponsor). The request said that even if we have a joint sponsor, the main sponsor still needs to send their information.

So my question is this: Should I send in I-864A forms for my parents with my I-864? Or is the I-864 I previously sent in enough?

Also, because we are living off savings, should I send in a copy of my savings account?

As always, any help is really greatly appreciated! I don't know what I would do without you guys!!

The US citizen spouse is always the primary sponsor regardless of their income level, so you must complete an I-864 in your own name even if it only contains all zeroes.

It's up to you as to whether to include your savings accounts (and any other assets) on your I-864. If you can show assets of ~$60,000 then you won't need a joint sponsor.
