We have the exact same case. Female petitioner, male benificiary, didnt know passed also cause they didnt say anything but everything went smooth... Hope u update us with your visa. Godless

hi have you check the status from USCIS dashboard using your USCIS case number?. because when you saw from their dashboard that the case is on "Post Decision Activity" that means that they turn over your case to NVC already. and when NVC received your case they will assign NVC case number that starts with letters MNL.

yes I have checked the USCIS website and mine says post decision activity

and it has since Nov.4th but no word from the NVC as of yet. how long does

the whole NVC portion take?

the whole NVC portion take?

Getting your NVC number.

Call NVC at 1 (603) 334-0700. Put this number on speed dial…it’s often busy, and you’ll use it a LOT.

Once your package has been scanned, it COULD update into the AVR (automated voice response system).

If it is uploaded to the AVR, you will be able to retrieve it with your CIS Case Receipt Number.

If is scanned but not in the AVR, an operator can tell you the NVC number.

The AVR is NOT reliable (we've seen some cases being completed without the AVR ever updating their case).

If it's been longer than 2 weeks and you still don't have your NVC case number, start sending up flares.

Call NVC and talk to a supervisor. Be prepared to send them a copy of your NOA2.

Once your case number has been assigned call back and speak to an operator. Give them an e-mail address for you and for your spouse. From then on NVC will e-mail you any correspondence.

we are finished with the USCIS portion and was approved on Nov.4th.

My question to you is how long did the NVC portion take? Also did you

receive any kind of notice telling you when your file was transferred from

the USCIS to the NVC? It has been 2 weeks for us since approved by the

USCIS but haven't received any kind of notice saying it has been transferred

to the NVC.

It took more than a month for our physical file to reach Manila Embassy from NVC.. But from USCIS to NVC was almost 2 weeks.. And I (petitioner) did receive NVC letter saying that my file was transferred to Manila Embassy from NVC.. Have you checked your case status in https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?

You are asking K1's how long does NVC takes. They don't go through NVC but to get case#. The letter you get is the approval letter what we call the NOA2. That says you are being sent to NVC. And that can take upwards to 8 weeks.

Have you called NVC? You should be calling daily to see if it has arrived and for your case# to be ont top of things. Please read the NVC filers thread I have attached here.

You need to come to the NVC filers thread read up on things. The NVC takes as long as it takes really irs about 2 to 4 months. Read post #1 and #2.
