Hi guys, I do check the flow chart and the guide but I can't always figure out what form or task of mine fits where on the chart.

My Fiancee (the sponsor) received a letter last week, this is the text:

_______

"The National Visa Center (NVC) received your fianc6(e)'s approved I-129F petition from U.S.

Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). The NVC will now forward the petition to the U.S.

Embassy or Consulate in MONTREAL. The U.S. Embassy or Consulate will contact your fianc6(e) when

they are ready to process his or her petition.

In the meantime, please have your fianc6(e) and his or her children visit ceac.state.gov and complete

Form DS-160 to apply for a K visa"

_______

So, I just did that. I can't tell from the instructions on the confirmation page whether I sit tight and do nothing until they contact me, or if I try already to schedule my appointment. I have to wait until they do something with the DS-160, don't I? They are vague on that.

Also, in this letter they say my interview will be in Montreal, yet I requested Ottawa, where I live. Will that be a problem to change my interview location?

Thanks for any direction anyone can give.

My fiance did her DS-160 also when I received the letter from the NVC. She then went to the embassy's website to find further instruction. There she found information on where she can get her medical interview, so she set up that appointment up for two days after. She then found the instructions on how to pay for the Visa fee and set an interview date. She did that as well and selected the date that was on the following week.

All that was done in single day.

A couple days before the interview she received the packet from the embassy with a copy of the approved 129f form and some other stuff. It mostly just stated what papers were going to be required at the interview, which I am assuming you already know what it necessary.

And that's it. She went to the embassy this past Thursday and spent a total of two hours there and had an interview lasting about 10 minutes and she was done.

So the whole thing was only 9 days from the day I received a letter from the NVC to the day of the interview :D. We are expecting the Passport and Visa to arrive at the pickup location in her city either Monday or Tuesday.
