There's so much information in here I'm not sure where to start, so I'm asking my questions all in one place here.

So from reading some of the threads I've gathered that we submit the I 130 and i485 simultaneously.

But when do we submit the medical results i693 and, the support affidavit i864. And if they are all submitted simultaneously how do I get the medical exam scheduled b4 I submit any forms? And for the support affidavit can I use my income as well for proof?

Also when I get the i765 for employment authorization, does my current h1b become void and can I work anywhere without limitation in the EAD?

Hi I'm in the same situation, My H1B expires 2/1/2014, i also did extensive research and this is what i would say to your questions

Submit the I-130; I-485; I-864; A G325A for both you and your spouse; I-765 and the I-693. I went ahead and got the I-693 done. They don't need much information apart from what's on the form the results are good for a year so i would suggest you do that right away, you can schedule before you submit the forms and that was the hold up for me as i had to get all the vaccines as to get my vaccination from Jamaica would have taken too much time and the doctor I went to didn't have all the vaccines on hand so i had to go back and for TB you have to go back two days after they administer the test so if you have to run around and get this done it takes time so don't wait.

I believe once you get the EAD your current H1B does become void and you are free to work for whoever.I intend to wait until I get the green card before looking at other jobs.

You can use your income as proof, i didn't need to as my wife's salary is more than sufficient. I'm not sure what using your income means in terms of paperwork, all the best there

Here is what I recommend you do. Before fulling answering your question is how much longer is your H1B valid for? Do note that the AOS will take 4-6 months to complete. As such if your H1B is valid for quite some time, you do not need to worry about the I-131 which is the authorization to travel while the AOS is underway. Most will not recommend you leave the country while the AOS is underway as the re-entry is NOT guarantee. However, if your H1B is still valid you will have no issues. File the I-130, I-131 (if you intend to travel & H1B expires), I-485, I-693, I-765, I-864, and G-325a (both you & your wife). Follow the instruction for each form and make sure you include the evidence required for each form or you will get an RFE (Request For Evidence) in turn delaying the process.

Let us know if you have any questions.

When I did AOS from H1-B to GC, I went through a law firm but to answer your questions yes you can submit your own employment information although it won't weigh as much as you are required to have a sponsor, whether you made more money than your spouse or not. When I did my AOS, my husband didn't have enough income to technically support me (I made more than him) so we had to add my father-in-law's income information - this was advised by the paralegal that handled my case. As for working, I changed jobs when my H1-B expired and had a valid EAD and had no issues. Once my GC was received I just updated my new employer with the GC. This is just based on my own experience. Good luck!

ROC Journey:

4/24/13 - Submitted I-751 application

4/26/13 - I-751 officially filed

6/11/13 - Biometrics done

8/14/13 - Rec'd RFE

9/21/13 - Submitted RFE response

9/23/13 - RFE response rec'd at VSC

(about 2 months later)

11/21/13 - Service request via Tier 1 submitted

12/11/13 - Response to service request rec'd - vague info about processing times

12/12/13 - Service request via Tier 2 submitted

12/10/13 - APPROVED!!! (letter rec'd 12/14/13)

12/16/13 - 2nd Service request response rec'd

12/17/13 - Card production email/text rec'd (online case updated)!

12/24/13 - Notification rec'd via email regarding card mailed on 12/23/13 (online case updated as well)

12/26/13 - 10-yr card rec'd!

One thing I have learned on this journey:

There is no such thing as an "overkill" evidence package. Submit anything and everything you can. Who knows what will prevent you from getting an RFE.

Please pay careful attention to the bolded parts above. Some offices schedule the medical examination appts way in advance or with a few days notice so if you can, ensure you have your immunization card or do as the previous poster has done. Find a civil surgeon that fits with your desired schedule https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=offices.type&OfficeLocator.office_type=CIV

All the best

Thanks so much fir the responses guys.

My H1B just got renewed for 2 yrs so that's not a problem. But I am trying to move to be with my husband so that's why I wad concerned whether i could work fir anyone i want with the EAD card and if my H1B would then be void. If my H1B becomes void I'd have to apply for the travel form.

My husband also makes enough with assume. So that should not be s problem either.
