hallo everyone,

one question: from several reviews, i hear we are not allowed to take food into the embassy/consulate; and you are usually at the embassy for several hours.

therefore my question is: how am i supposed to feed my two year old during that entire time? or do they let people with young children go through faster than everyone else?

i figure my boy will be very hungry after two hours or so.huh.png

You can sneak in some snacks for your little one. Put it at the bottom of your purse. And when he gets hungry feed him then if somebody said you can't, just say, for goddess sake , my baby is hungry!

I honestly do not believe you should bring your child to the interview. Not only would it be difficult if he/she got hungry....how do you intend to keep him/her content during that long wait time? It's just not a great idea. If you can find someone to care for your child during your interview, that really would be best. If it were me, I would not bring my child, especially a two year old. It's stressful enough in itself. Just my two cents, and only trying to help. Good luck and stay blessed.

thanks for the suggestion. i would do that if i had the option. but the nairobi embassy clearly states that every applicant must appear in person for the interview. hence my dilemma. but when the time comes, we might call and ask if they can let us leave him at home.

Ooops, my bad. I apologize...I didn't realize that. duh! oops8rh.gifohmy.png I clearly wasn't thinking! LOL. Of course! Stupid me, lol. When I was at the Nairobi Embassy, I didn't see snacks of any kind anywhere. You should be able to bring them for your baby. Just put everything in your diaper bag; I really don't think the security guards will give you a problem. The waiting area is outside anyway luv.gif

hi shtu. that would be so nice! if there was a play space.

But Ben and Jill have been there and they say there isn't one.

at least now i know, so i will be prepared like they say. i will bring some food for the child, and probably some coloring books and crayons to help pass time.

Parents with small children are normally seen first. There is a snack area that opens around 8am. My wife had coffee there one morning. She also says there is a small area for children with books and some toys. I can't answer about bringing in food for a small child. I don't see a problem. Even they know young children need to be feed more regular than adults and they should understand that and not deny your bags entry after they are checked.

thanks :) that information settles my worries. It is very thoughtful of them to have a place to keep the kids busy.
