Hey all, I've posted a few times throughout this entire fun k1 process, and it's finally come to the end in a good way, the visa status was updated to issued on the 14th :) hurrah.

Slight problem is that so far it's just sitting on issued and the couriers don't have it yet, and my wedding is in a week...so you can see my panic, does anyone know how long they tend to stay at issued before appearing with the courier?

For reference interview was on the 7th and issued 14th, I know it's almost certainly fine, just stressing out massively because of the time left and you guys all have a similar background and understand the panic :D

There is nothing that can really be done except wait and hope for the best at this time. The visa comes when it comes. Most visas will arrive within two weeks of the interview, but there is never any guarantee. I would expect to have the visa and passport back by the 21st.

In our case, it took four weeks from the interview due to a small technicality.

It's never a good idea to make firm plans before the visa and passport are in hand.

Completely understand, to be honest my only concern is the frankly awful usvisa-info site. Which has for weeks had the status as "provide appointment information" yet the call centre has no idea what that means. Everything seems to be setup correctly (payments etc) but it still unnerves me

In our case, our interview was approved on Friday, there were a couple CEAC updates over the weekend and it was changed from Immigrant to Non-immigrant visa and given a new case creation date and changed to Issued on Monday, and we had the visa via courier on Friday, a week after the interview.

Planning a wedding date before you have a visa in hand is usually not a good idea anyway though. Also, you need to get a marriage license once here, which I know here anyways requires a Social Security number, which you can't get for 2 weeks after date of arrival here. (It takes that long to show up in the database to be issued one.)

Based on what I personally experienced you may have the visa in hand on the 21st, although as with anything actual results may vary.

Use the CEAC site for better updates. The usvisa-info site is not really meant for actual real updates.

You do not need an SSN for marriage licence, it may vary state to state but my fiancee got our licence before i even arrived in the US. You have to provide and SSN IF you have one. If you do not then it does not matter.
