IF the state's insurance boards accept his "offer" then it is up to the insurance companies to accept his offer BUT they do not have to offer the same premiums. It is NOT an extension of a canceled policy. Those policies are canceled...period. This allows people to sign up for NEW policies with the same coverages but does not guarantee price. Since insurers were promised a much larger "pool" of young, low risk policyholders by Obama and that pool has yet to materialize, the rates people were paying are expected to soar.

Customers wanted to keep the plans because they offered coverages they needed at reasonable prices. Sure, some things mandated under Obamacare were not covered...why does a single guy or an elderly couple need maternity coverage? NOW they will be able to buy the limited coverages...but at higher prices.

One could say this was planned. However they cannot buy the Obamacare coverage because the website also sucks. My head hurts!

In any case we have arrived at a "universal" health paln that does NOT cover everyone, leaves MORE people uninsured and provides a patchwork of available coverage and prices based on states, insurers and peoples incomes.

This "plan" is a travesty. I give it until Thanksgiving before everyone figures out Obama's "fix" was nothing more than a self serving speech. Desm will bail out by New Year's and we can expect even longer paid vacations for unnecessary government workers in January.

I am still hoping the Repubs will leave it alone. Let the Dems OWN EAT IT !

Even to get a rate hike the insurance companies spend months waiting for the ok from government agency's . Big headaches for the states and the country. ONE big cluster*** .The kenyan WILL blame this mess on the insurance companies now.

Even then, there is no guarantee that ALL the insurers will agree. It is just a total can of worms. So, because of Obama, you can keep your health care plan IF your state's insurance board allows it AND IF your insurer offers to re-issue the plan to you AND IF you can afford the new premiums.

And he calls that "meeting his promise" ????

Universal healthcare at its best. Isn't that how they did it in the UK?

They HAVE to. Simple math. If they do not rise for the "reinstated" plans then they will have to raise MORE for new plans. Unless you expect insurers to take a loss. After all, Obama promised them more customers and increased profits.

All one had to do was LISTEN to Obama nd know this was a crock.

Healthcare for 30 million more people, cover ALL conditions without limits, AND save $2500 per year (at least) per family. Seriously? It is like a joke from "the Simpson's" An answer that Bart gave on a math test.

If the part of the law that Obama DELAYED enforcement of is bad...how does delaying enforcement of it make the LAW better? Why did Obama shut down statues and give paid vacations to unnecessary government employees when Republicans wanted to do the same thing?

Oh right. THAT's what Obama said "If you like your healthcare plan and you live in Florida and have Blue Cross you can keep your healthcare plan. For 1 year"

If he had said THAT, who would have supported this nonsense?
