I had a few questions I am hoping someone can help me with. I married a wonderful American man. Problem is after two years things just are not what they should be and neither of us are totally happy. To be honest this is my fault I think I am lesbian and I was never honest with him about this. I was shy and embossed and thought I would just grow out of it. But I have not. I can into the USA on a K-1 Visa I know have a 2 year greencard. If I were to file for divorce what would happen to my immigration status? Would I be deport or required to leave at the end of the two years or would I still be able to received my ten year greencard and be able to take the citizenship test in 3 years?

Thank you for your help

hi

you would have to remove conditions as divorced and prove that you entered in a bonafide marriage. if you get the 10 year GC

for citizenship it's 5 years of residency for divorced. 3 years if you are still married to the USC.
