DS-260 question

Good evening all

I just paid the IV processing fee, but thanks to it being Friday it won't be processed until probably Tuesday, so in the meantime, a quick question.

Is the DS-260 the same exact form as the DS-230, just the online format? If so, in the sworn statement portion of the DS-230 it refers to the petitioner's information. I'm taking it that the petitioner is the applicant (non-USC), am I correct?

Thanks

Petitioner is the US citizen and beneficiary is the non US Citizen.

I did for my sister before, I filled out the form, wrote down my info in Preparer part. My sister just log in to Form Portal and "Sign and Submit". Because DS-260 required to sign by Applicant, even someone help them to fill out. That is E-Signature so anyone can sign it. But I aware that NVC tracking on IP Address, so they know the person who signed that form living in USA, of course, that is not an Applicant.

The ds-260 is a visa application so the beneficiary is the applicant not the petitioner.

It also is not the same as the ds-230. However the petitioner can complete it on behalf of the beneficiary.

Please take the time to search out the screen shots of the ds-260 on this website and also the NVC process wiki.
