Issue with which embassy to go to

Hi everyone,

I am REALLY confused about which embassy I should list...

My fiance filed our petition in August 2013 and at the time I was working and living full-time in the Republic of Ireland and so Dublin was given as our processing embassy. A month after my fiance filed the petition I got a new job just across the border in Northern Ireland. My new place of employment was based 90 minutes from my home and because of transport issues I had to start staying in Belfast mid-week.

I am now staying in Belfast during the week and then returning to my home in in the Republic of Ireland at weekends. My address in the Republic will continue to be my permanent address - all of my
banking, bills and correspondence are still associated with this address. I would also prefer any visa correspondence to be mailed here.

I understand that Belfast falls under the London embassy so I am unsure as to where my application should now be sent. Obviously my fiance and I do not want to delay this process in any way, nor do we want to cause any confusion.

I emailed the NVC and got a very generic, non-informative response which I can understand given their daily influx of emails. I also cannot get through to a live operator in the Dublin Embassy and I have no idea what to do!

Thank you so much in advance.

If you are an Irish citizen, and have a permanent address in Ireland, stick to Dublin.

Calling an embassy is usually useless, they tend to be better at responding to emails.

I assume you would prefer to continue processing with Dublin? If you haven't told anyone you've moved, and you've left your address in ROI, then you shouldn't need to do anything. Just get someone to keep a close eye on your post while you're away in the week. :)
