So, what's the proper reaction to a complete stranger chasing you at night? Do you offer him tea and crumpets?

Hahahahaha ha they wanted him to say, "here sir take it. I won't fight you off."

Do you know what I want? I want one of GZ's supporters to tell me what was the proper response to this situation. I mean, what should have TM done to avert this situation? Someone once said he should have run home. That would imply that he was in danger. If that was the case, doesn't he have the right to SYG? Had GZ just identified himself, maybe TM would have just answered him and it would have been a completely different situation. It's amazing that folks are willing to ignore every bit of the the confrontation right up until the fight, because GZ did everything he could to force a confrontation, then when it went sideways, he shot and killed him.

I agree. If he was scared enough to run home this implies he had a clear case to stand and defend himself.

But these people posting will teach their children to talk to perverted strangers following them home at night.

Nah, this case is different because it was a black youth. By all accounts, because TM posts pics of himself giving the finger, fighting in school, smoking weed, these things are punishable by death. Yet, GZ has an actual criminal record, and it's completely inconceivable that he was the aggressor in this case.

Smoking marajawana is a much heftier crime than beating your girlfriend. You didn't learn this when you attended classes on how being black will make you screwed for the rest of your life?

I learned this in 3rd grade.

I must have been asleep during that portion of the class. I thought resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer would weigh more than stealing some jewelry and graffiti.

You missed it.

Section 104.a also states than when being black, if you follow others this is considered stalking.

Section 104.b states if a non black person is stalking you, it becomes no longer stalking, but following out of concern.

See, I kept my book.

Oooh, good one. I've forgotten how the rules are subject to change when a black person is involved.

Wasn't chasing him. I don't think being almost home, turning around, finding him,, beating him in the face while hurling racial slurs and telling him "you are going to die tonight" was very smart

It resulted in him being justifiable killed .

So you're saying that GZ's actions were completely normal and rational? That nothing he did contributed to the incident?

You said he turned around and found him. Did GZ say hey I'm the neighborhood watch and try to explain himself? No, he didn't. What's the difference between following and chasing? TM knew he was being followed, it became a chase the second he became aware of his presence and tried to get away from him.

GZ's words not TM's. Because TM isn't here to tell us what really happened.

Since when does pounding someone's face while on top of them constitute "trying to get away"?

IMO, this might be plausible. TM might have been scared or angry enough to say this, given the fact he had just spent the last 4 minutes of his life being chased by a complete stranger.

The effect can't be the cause. He treated TM like a criminal from the get go, and when TM reacted violently because he had NO IDEA who GZ was or what he wanted, it justified his actions.

Since following someone for four minutes without identifying themselves or their intentions constitutes nothing at all creepy or dangerous.
