Sorry, not a good choice of words, but you get the point. They both have to live together while one hopes they survive before they can do better for themselves.

why do they have to live together?

Are you trying to say the poor blacks, that are honest decent, can't escape the gang ridden crime infested inner cities?

I knew my superior grammar skills would help someone one day.

You have to make it out first. It is not handed down. Some people work hard while living in those conditions to be able to move on to better things.

My god. You remind me of my sister. It's always someone else's fault. I've never seen someone play the victim card so much in my life. Why have personal responsibility when you can blame everything on racism? I'm starting to wish I was a minority.

The punk decided he didn't like someone following him so decided to take the law into his own hands and he caught a bullet over it. He had it coming I don't give a #### what color he is.

Didn't you just tell Janelle the other day about the other cases that had NOTHING to do with TM? I mean, you quoted like 3 cases of black teens, but it had nothing to do with the case at hand, nor did they have anything in common, oh yeah, the perps were black teens so they HAVE to be the same thing right? Case in point.

Like I've told you before, take it up with Google. I did a search on 17 year old murderers. It's not my fault the first 3 or 4 choices in the search results happened to be black. I didn't say anything about the race when I ran the search. Google must be racist as well. It's a conspiracy. The whole world is out to get the black man.

I'm starting to feel even more sorry for the black man. Not because of racism, but because of the delusional thinking that anything that doesn't go their way, HAS to be about race. What a shame to live life with that self-inflicted imaginary burden hanging over you.

Tell that to Jordan Davis, Sean Bell, Mr. Diallo. Because I'm pretty sure those weren't self inflicted.

I did a search on teenagers who murdered their parents. They were all white. Well the first 10 were. I stopped at 10. Anyway I thought this was a good place to post it, since it kind of related to your post, and the whole topic has been going sideways for a while anyway.

I could list all the cases of white folks who were assaulted or killed because of their race as well if you like. There's plenty. Where's the outrage and the demonstrations and the 30 page threads?

It's convenient to label ol George a racist even though there's no proof of that. That way people like you can keep the blame game going instead of looking at the internal issues of the black community. Easier to blame the white man for all of your troubles.

I have to laugh at all these liberal do-gooders that live in rural Wisconsin or the upper east side of Manhattan. They're only interaction with a black man being what they see on TV or maybe handing one of them a valet ticket when they pick up their car. Go live in the black community and get back to me.

The only people that can truly fix the issues of the black community are other black folks. A black president isn't going to do it. More laws aren't going to do it. More racist affirmative action programs aren't going to do it. Black folks need to get off their a$$ and fix it themselves. Otherwise, it's just going to more complaining about these perceived racist slights while they wallow at the bottom of the socio-economic scale. Al and Jesse will never tell you that truth. It's in their best interest to keep the black man down. Without perceived racism, they'd have to get a real job.

Firstky there's no proof of 'anything' since noone here was there to see what happened. The only 'facts' are that a kid was killed in pretty shady circumstances by a guy who seems to have a bit of a temper problem. Everyone wants to spin it to fit their own agenda.

What I find interesting is what people say between the lines.

For instance, in what you wrote above you appear to be implying that there's a uniform 'black' experience in the USA, the solution to which is for black people to club together to resolve the problems that they all experience. This appears to imply that there's no black middle class (for instance) and that, in general, black people can be arbitrarily summed up as being lazy and wanting to blame others for their problems.

You say you did a Google search that 'randomly' showed search results of black teen murderers. That's a far cry from actual 'statistics' of course. That said, I have no doubt that statistics would show a higher proportion of crime (including violent crime) in urban, ethnic minority areas. That said, I wouldn't lay the blame for a murder committed by a 17 year old in new jersey at the feet of my old boss in NYC (she's black BTW).

The point is, you need to be able to separate steropeotypes from real life experience. There certainly are problems in inner city areas which have low household incomes, high incidences of single parent families, generational unemployment and substance abuse problems. However it doesn't help when you attempt (even through ignorance and personal prejudice against people you're arguining with online) to tar everyone with the same brush.

At best, its fantastic arrogance. At worst, its racist (that word again. Sorry but it is).

Incidentally, I lived in Elizabeth and Hillside NJ for four years. I'm white, what should I have learned from this?

I'll answer your first question with a question? When was the last time a white person was killed and the killer wasn't arrested when black? Even OJ Simpson got arrested and held in custody. GZ killed an unarmed teenager, yet who was drug and alcohol tested? Not the shooter, but the deceased. There's no demonstrations because those killers are behind bars, it didn't take 44 days, nor can a black person EVER say they felt threatened, even when they are having the life choked out of them and kill in self defense(Dooley, 8 years Manslaughter), fire a warning shot that doesn't even hit anyone(Alexander, 20 years, trying to appeal now) or my personal favorite, shooting someone who is on your property, at night, with a box cutter, even after you fire a warning shot, advancing on you(Mcneil, 6 years served of a 13 year sentence). The system doesn't work for us the same as it does for you. It's been proven here, time and time again.

George Zimmerman acted poorly, period. If the kid was white, brown, even green, my opinion still stands. What's even worse is even after this recent arrest, which clearly shows he has issues, no one will think that the altercation could have been started by him. He's now got 3 domestic violence charges against him and criminal mischief, but folks will give him the benefit of the doubt right up until he kills someone. Yet, what you don't understand is, all black folks want is to be treated like equals. We don't want the police shooting us because we reach for our papers, we don't want them beating us up because we look like a threat. We want to name our kids Jamal or Tanisha without having some idiot deny them a job because their names sound too "black".

I've lived in a black neighborhood for 20 years. When I go home, I get to see what most folks talk about here up close. Folks think black folks love being poor? Get a clue. You can't get EMT help in the places I used to go, cops could care less, and you have a better chance at winning the lottery than having a cab come get you. What's worse is it didn't used to be this way. When a large group of blacks move in, the support goes out, and it goes downhill from there. This is why crime is rampart in black communities. It's an easy target.

Now, I'll agree with you that there are some things within our community we can fix. School, home parenting, work ethics, etc. I'm 100% about that, but from there, some white people need to work on their prejudiced thinking. Jamal shouldn't be a deterrent for getting a job, a crime committed by anyone is a crime, it shouldn't hold more weight based on the color of your skin, I shouldn't have to beat box my way out of getting arrested, nor should I have to carry the burden of black teens, just like you don't carry the burden when some white guy shoots up a school or mall, etc.

I'm not tarring anyone with the same brush. IMO, (and I'm entitled to that) it get's old when everything bad that happens to a minority has to be because of racism. Even when there's evidence to the contrary. This GZ/TM thing is a perfect case in point.

If you would've taken the time to read the post I was responding to concerning the google search, you would've noticed that I was disputing Janelle's assertion that 17 year olds are just innocent kids. The same as the victims of Newtown. I was merely pointing out that 17 year old kids can be every bit as dangerous as an adult. Probably more so in some cases. The fact that a simple google search of "17 year year old murderers" returned a bunch of black faces, isn't my problem. As I stated before, take it up with Google. I'm not responsible for their search algorithms.

Moving forward my advice is to read the entire thread before responding, and not just cherry pick posts to make your point.

You seem to like answering questions with questions. Not sure why. My point is that if TM was white, we probably would've never heard of this case. Your assertion that GZ acted stupidly is debatable. It may make him a nut with a gun, it may not. The former appears to be the case due to all this recent news. However, to say it has to be because TM was black, is just stupid IMO.

You say you arent, but you clearly are and not just about blacks. You said 'black folks need to get off their @ss'. What is that saying if not that black people are lazy? Then you seem to be spinning the idea that people complaining about racism are liberal do gooders living a life of privilege who have no experience of the black community.

It may get 'old' to you but it doesnt mean that racism isn't real. Some people here seem to think its only possible to be racist if you say 'n*gger', for example. It isn't the case,

I have no disagreement that a 17 year old cant be less dangerpus than a 20 y/o, a 30 y/o or what have you. Let me ask you, why did you bring up Google searches, what is the point if it returned searches of black faces. What is to be taken from that?
